>Why is excitement cringe and how do I keep it under control?
To me it is not cringe, I find it cute. You should trueselfmax, not hideselfmax to fit in with people that does not care about you in the first place.

It isn't cringe. I find it endearing when people express pure joy and excitement

Because whatever it is you're getting excited over won't seem exciting upon reflection, and your reflective thoughts are closer to reality than your expectative thoughts. If you want to get excited less, just reflect more and expect less.

Life without enthusiasm for something is very sad

Other people tell you its cringe because they aren’t excited about things that you are. Everybody has their interests, but when you see someone overjoyed about their new shitty series getting another season, you’ll think its stupid for the same reason

>is excitement cringe?
It depends on the context of the situation.
You could you give an example of perceived cringe excitement you have dealt with before?

Everyone lives behind three layers of protective meta-irony nowadays, so someone expressing genuine love and passion for something is jarring and often invites scorn and discomfort.
Symptom of a profoundly and spiritually sick society. Thankfully abates a lot with age, both in yourself and your peers.

>Why is excitement cringe

It's not. People might cringe at you because people can be assholes, especially if you're on the autism spectrum. Some people can just smell blood in the water if they get a hint that you're autistic.
I'm autistic as fuck but I learned how to mask at an early age because of how badly I was bullied for being enthusiastic about the things I enjoyed. It's not because I was excited, it was because I wasn't being excited in a socially appropriate way within a culture dominated by neurotypical individuals that have no sympathy for neurodivergent individuals.

Autists are much more hateful and cruel than neurotypicals from my experience. You don't hear normal people complain about autists, but autists love to discriminate normal people given the chance.

>You don't hear normal people complain about autists
a lot of normal people don't have the vocabulary to describe autism. Growing up, nobody knew what autism was, adults told me autism wasn't real, kids called me a freak and a fag, kids threw trash at me and beat the fuck out of me, one kid pulled a knife on me, one kid put a cigarette out on me (still have a scar on my left forearm as a 30 year old).
they're aggressive toward autistic people but they don't know about autism as a disorder and just identify the traits associated with autism as "you're a fucking freak, why don't you act normal." this goes for kids and adults, then and now.

You probably think drinking water and sleeping is cringe too. Bruh, you must be awfully cringe to be around if you truly believe being excited is cringe. WTF ???
