The only reason I talk to my family is I can't not run in to them since I still live in the city I grew up in but once I move far away enough I will cut contact with all of them and I have always thought I would. being the age I am I never thought I would still be speaking to my family members lol Family is the most overrated thing in the world and I fucking hate family values and the importance people put on them. I mean it's 2026 we don't live in feudal times any longer.

I think that's very wrong. But I get where you are coming from. The issue is just that your family is bad and they taint and twist the meaning of those values.

I really don't see the rest of my family, only my siblings and mother. No bad blood between us, they're just not part of my life. I find it kinda of wasteful to invest my time into random people or relationships won't last.
