That is a beautiful reconstruction of a terror bird

Its nice but I don't know how accurate the skull shape is.
I like picrel better anatomically speaking, even if it's not as dynamic and has no cool diorama to go with it

This classic Andalgalornis sculpture is also great.

Shrink wrapped reconstruction. Not accurate.

One notable detail I found about them recently is that they were determined to be poor on turns when running.
Which is evidence they were not small-prey specialists as many have proposed, where agility is very important.

Some like Brontornis have shorter beaks like in the OP

behold!

>Brontornis
There is no Brontornis skull material at all afaik

No love for Bathornis, their North American cousin?

you dont really to turn that much to hunt a capybara
>>
>>5036439
I had never considered their stripes you go to the skin, or that all of their skin would be blue

I had heard this kind of animal was native to South America and died out shortly thereafter the "Great American Interchange" when large felines were introduced to their world, but I see Titanis Walleri was native to North America, so what's up with that?
>>
>>5039728
they didnt get farther than southern california, thats not really north, but its not really central america either
>>
>>5039728

It's pure bullshit. Titanis co-existed with mammalian predators for over 3 million years in North America also see >>5039467

Paleotranny thinks she (ugly woman) is clever, but Terror Birds have always been known to be birds and there has never been a featherless bird species. Never. Dinosaurs, on the other hand have a nearly complete fossil record at this point with a few gaps on certain branches. We have skin fossils from every single group and they're all scales except for the frauds. I don't even think Coelurosaurs (a non-scientific, polyphyletic grouping) had feathers at this point.

Kill the jewbot wherever you find it.

Could you ride them as a mount?
