Any roach enjoyers here?
>>5038794Ronch

>>5038797That's sad because theyre too cool to hand them off to reddit

>>5038801Is that a simandoan cave roach?
What the fuck is he smiling about?
>>5038802Yes :) was one of my grails. Happy to finally have them
>>5038803This one is dope, what species
>>5038806Panchlora regalis, one of the banana roaches
>>5038800meds. now.
The miracle of life
>>5038794I take care of them at my job, the ones that hiss when they get scared because I place a piece of fruit near them. Then they go eat it right away. It's honestly cute.
>>5038803Look at this smug bastard
>>5038803
Why are the most lame and boring roaches the common household ones?
>>5038794Do people actually keep more species than the typical hissing roaches? Is there a whole market for them like tarantulas?
>>5038956They’re a lot more niche but there are some, like Halloween hissers
>>5038794They're cool but I want every single household/urban pest species wiped out from the planet.
>>5038956Yup, there's plenty of them, they get pretty pricey too. Not as easy of a market to find but definitely there.
>>5039009Agreed. I would never keep any of the urban ones. Don't want to risk an infestation.
>>5038956Corydidarum magnifica have gotten really popular in recent years
>>5039145So gorgeous, i wish theu weren't so expensive
YupLook at this bug boi
>>5039150Stags are cool, definitely prefer roaches though
>>5038794Used to be. 8 years ago I had a breeder colony of dubia roaches and some red runners too. They were feeders for my leopard gecko. Also had little colonies of Kenyan roaches and Surinam roaches
>>5039463What were Kenyan roaches like? Why aren't they popular?
i currently have Dubias, Hissers, Death Heads and Therea bernhardti colonies. Dubias and Deathheads are reptile/amphibian/spider food, Hissers and Thereas just for fun, but both have a population boom and i started culling them too. i definitely want the kenyan dwarfs (good food for my mourning geckos) the emerald ones and the african extinct in the wild one but all three are still too expensive.
how do you keep your colonies in check if you don't have animals to feed them off to?
>>5039733You could just cull them, sell them or try keep them cooler and feed them less to reduce breeding
>>5039469Not enough people know about them. Same as a lot of other roaches that would be great feeders
