They have to be bred and trained for it. The end result can't be trusted as a pet/companion.
>Cats aren't good at catching mouse
This is at least correct. They could be bred and trained for it - actually, we could have had some really cool cats by now - but cat people are dumber than the cats and have been domesticated by them instead of the other way around (dog people domesticated the cats for them) and instead of humans using cats to accomplish things, cats use their pet humans to spread toxoplasmosis

the japanese bobtail was originally bred specifically for hunting but lost its purpose (the shiba inu was better at it anyways)

every dog I've had will bark to alert if someone is outside of the house even if they love people; there are breeds like cane corsos/kangals that will maul a stranger who enters a home if untrained
cats and even dogs can dispatch a lone rat with relative ease as long as it doesn't have a hiding spot
if you mean can cats clear a rodent infestation with no other help the answer is no, because rats breed too quickly

My sister had a mouse in her apartment and called me to help get it out.

Finally manage to herd it to the entrance and it runs outside like a rocket.
Her neighbors cat intercepted the mouse mid sprint, and ate him.

The answer is bigger cats

Cane Corsos (at least "proper ones") have to be trained in "reverse" to know to trust people outside etc, by default they're immediately suspicious of weird strangers.

They absolutely can: it would be pretty pointless to have them if they wouldn't let you access your own home/belongings either.
My parents used to have a doberman and more recently a GSD, and while both were extremely wary of strangers, once you were established as allowed to be there they became some of the sweetest dogs I've ever met.
I miss them both a lot. For any of you with a dog or any other pet, I command you to remind them that you love them right now, because one day a time will come where you no longer have the luxury of doing so.

Who the fuck is owning a Kangal who isn't a sheep farmer.
>cane corso
great dogs, I dogsat one for a year while he was out on deployment. Amazing dog ended up getting one myself. Too bad they're becoming more and more popular with all the low-lifes who won't put in the effort to properly train the dogs.

Well yeah no shit most dogs have been bred to be as docile as possible, if you want a dog that'll guard your home get an actual guardian dog
What most dogs are good at is being alarms since they'll bark at intruders, but that's about it in terms of their guarding capabilities
>>
is this the new meta? instead of baiting one group, just go for both at the same time
