are all bug/mantis keepers this delusional and schizo?

thoughts on removing an animal out of the wild to hold it captive and then just sticking them into an empty box?
>>
>delusional and schizo
He's right actually. Bugs are borderline automatons that spend most of their life having their "don't get eaten" routine triggered by a stray leaf so this is like bug paradise.
>>
i mean yeah, bugs aren't the smartest creatures but removing one from the wild and putting it into an empty box seems like unnecessarily evil. even if it's just a bug they still decided to hold it captive, so the fact they put more effort into the schizo lines than adding something to the enclosure is kinda hilarious

dunno, not really into bug keeping but the effort put into the lines vs the effort put into the box are a hilarious juxtaposition. going on schizo rants when someone calls it empty instead of taking that time to add a bit of earth or some shit is kinda funny. i mostly seen those terrarium things fully decorated even for tarantulas, so idk how much a mantis bug would differ

No this is a pretty good setup and has practical elements for them. They need mold free environments you can make more humid for their molting. Most mantids aren't "hunters" they tend to spend most of their time waiting and just grab what's in arms length. Having large or complicated enclosures with places for their prey to hide or evade them is much worse.

this is Zen paradise for a mantis
they're build different

Insects tend to have really good color vision, so a sterile box like this is almost certainly not great.

That’s fine for a mantis but I see no reason to take one from the wild and put it in a pretty bland enclosure. Being mad there’s no terrarium backdrop is retarded and just demonstrates a lack of knowledge though

Most are pretty schizzed out yeah, especially the mantis keepers. My sister loves them and she's pretty much a mantis incarnate herself. (You don't wanna know why)

she start with the head or does she eat the legs first?

Vore fetish

this setup technically works, yes.
it's ugly, and i'm sure that mantis would appreciate some fake foliage (some of mine enjoy roaming in it, others stick on the ceiling all day) but it's not incorrect.
however, mantises i put in my planted tank live significantly longer than any of my other mantises.
also yes we are all schizo, sorry.

but i do want to know why
