/an/, I need some advice here.I got five dogs and a cat. We kept the yard and the animals free from fleas for years. Then one dog got epilepsy. No problem, got her on some medication to keep the rate of seizures low (one or two a month) and her body tolerates the medicine fine. What it doesn't tolerate. At all. Is flea prevention. Collars, sprays, powders, sevin dust in the yard. Hell, even anti flea stuff on the other animals (including shared spaces if the other animals take oral medication) causes violent ass seizure. The smell from plant oil based stuff and vinegar even makes her seize. (Diet was a problem, but we finally got that shit sorted out). So, what the fuck can I use to kill giga fleas. The kind of fleas we have just laugh off dip and topical treatments already and that dirt scrub that is supposed to slice them up didn't do shit. As it stands we are just washing these animals twice a week but that is starting to fuck up their costs from even mild soap destroying the natural oils after repeated washing.Anything you guys know of that might solve this situation?
>>5046657stop hoarding animals
>>5046688Not really hoarding when I got four acres of land, a 2,000 square foot house, and nothing but time to care for them. Not like I got 20 cats in a studio apartment in a major city or some shit.
>>5046657How did the other dog get epilepsy? Is there any way for you to keep her absolutely quarantined from everyone else for a bit until the oral flea meds do their work?
>>5046657Sounds like a terrible condition, was it hereditary? Why do plant oil smells cause her to seize? Just curious, no real answers here. Condolences.
In my experience, letting cats out makes your dog 900% more likely to get fleas. Dog fleas can not survive for extended periods on the little toxos but they can still hitch a ride.
>>5046706No outside factors, she just got it after she matured. It's a genetic issue.>>5046714Epilepsy can have all kinds of shit that triggers seizures. Flashing lights is a well known example. Also an over exposure to red lights. Smells and even sounds can tickle whatever part of your head meat that causes it. Similar to how some smells can make you nauseated or give you a heads ache without an underlying reason for them to have that effect. As for isolation, it would be a long term issue and that isn't really viable.>>5046715Cat never goes outside.
