To me it's a good way for normies to really see how cruel the industrialization of cattle really is.
I'm from Argentina, except from massive chicken farms, most of our meat production comes from extensive farms where aninals are fed mostly grass and are able to forage their own food in both native and implanted pastures. When I found out how massive milk farms in the USA worked, I qas shocked and kind of understood why vegans criticize vegetarians as bland, because sometimes it's worse to have an animal live in the same 4 square meters their whole life rather than killing them at the age of 15 months.
And yea, maybe it's too preachy, but that's not a problem if you have the slightest sense of critical thinking.
I'm not a vegan, but seeing how things are done in the rest of the world, I can't help but understand them.

It just undermines itself as an artistic work and it's messaging. Most the runtime, it's presented as this cold, hard facts only documentary (which IMO works for its message) and then all of a sudden it just spits out this sermon about how "meat industry le bad! animals have feelings too!", as if it wasn't made clear to you in the literal 2 hours of runtime showing all the carnage going on there. A simple silent montage of the animals shown in the film in normal conditions would work better both artistically and giving the viewer a moment to think. Or just simply ending once they've shown and told you everything.

There isn't enough land on Earth to meet the food needs of the planet - especially if everyone switched to vegetarian - which is why industrialized farming is used instead of "natural" farming. In the 1800's, environmentalists predicted that everyone would starve if the planet reached a billion people. In the 1970's, environmentalists predicted everyone would starve if the planet reached 5 billion people. There are currently 8 billion and counting, and food production is at an all time high.

Every supermarket must be stocked with competing meat brands and must never run out of any of them
The end result is they order way too much meat. Producers are stressed and forced to overproduce. Food is wasted at every point.
