I like the idea and I liked Prehistoric Planet, extinct mammals need more love. I wish it wasn't just constrained to the ice age though, same way I wish Prehistoric Planet wasn't just constrained to the end of the cretaceous, the walking with dinosaurs/beasts formula of slowly moving through time was much better

Which could be considered a good thing, they are supposed to educate after all. But it's still a double edged sword since it means doc-makers will be much more hesitant on tackling less well known eras. It's a lot easier to confidently reconstruct Hell Creek or the Pleistocene ice age than some random time period in the Early Cretaceous or Miocene.
