how do I convince my budgie to eat pellets again
>>5052754Whats she eating at the moment? Seeds? Here is my prize winning budgie she is called birb :>
>>5053132She was eating seeds then i managed to convert her to "super small" zupreem pellets but they stopped making super small so I bought the regular small and now she won't eat them at all
>>5053627I reccomend harrison's adult lifetime super fine for getting birds off of seeds as the pellets are roughly the same size, shape and colour as millet.Just mix them into the seeds and use less seeds gradually :)Harrison's is also a nutritionally complete diet and certified organic <3my birds love it

>decide to look up "x" parrot species>search results lead me to a parrot subplebbit talking about how "x" parrot is unkosher to keep without titanium gorrilion bar aviary>decide to see out of morbid curiosity the rest of the subplebbit>90% are just posts about small parrots and a combination of "does my heckin' parrota'rino have aids from this feather pattetm?" or "le head scritches :3:3">they all used stupidly sized cages that they don't need to be so big for such small parrots>suspect they were likely guilt tripped into doing so by marketing or plebbit hyper social awareness of being called out for neglect if their cage is one inch off being 8ft wide for their budgie>notice the posts use a lot of weird language that borders on being infantile>discover that the vast majority of users posting are tatoo'd fat women>the few posters who are not posting small parrots or using infantile language are men>then come to the conclusion that this is true to just plebbit but irl experience as well with the vast majority of large parrots I have known having male owners>one of the most common things I also heard from women keeping parrots is that they like macaws but "a beak that big makes them nervous">think back to dog domestication and the consistent trend of women creating dog breeds that are largely too deformed or unhealthy to pose a physical risk>then think back to the sterotype of female cat owners declawing and feeding their persians to the point of immobile obesity>think back to my grandma trying to shove food down my throat as much as she could while half-jokingly telling me to stop growing as I become twice her height>>consider how schools are largely female and mostly self-contained areas to prevent kids from roaming while fattening them up with school meals, like parrots in giant cages and oil heavy feed>>>reach an epiphany as to why almost all world religion agrees to the fact that women shouldn't be in positions of power

>>5054414They are one of the few bird species to develop a primate style brain structure through convergent evolution. They have big spiriform nuclei which function in a similar fashion to the pontine nuclei that primates have at quite the large size. But while they are similar, the spiriform is a massive highway that loops the cerebellums pathways to several regions of the brain which the pontine does as well but actually routes far less regions of the brain in comparison to the spiriform. In other words, they are ape brained but ironically have far better infomation processing than actual apes themselves. It is also important to note that this level of intelligence is very different to corvids as their brain wiring is different but neuron dense regardless. Parrots are as close to sapience as you can get within the realm of animal sentience and they will remind you of that at every oppertunity.
>>5054443How do we foster more intellect in parrots and give them some kind of cross generational exchange like we do with language and media
>>5054457Why are they so pure?
>>5054452The better question is how we do transfer this brain structure change to more deserving animals like border collies and maine coons and remove it from parrots since they’re not doing shit with it and have no use for it at all

>>5054466And you are implying this is better than a dog that sits in his backyard calling people faggots all day? With the agility and unnoticeableness of a cat, people could be called faggots from anywhere
>>5054473Cats and dogs can't fly and die by the age of 16. A parrot can fly and opperate for 80 years while it locks onto spergs and screams faggot at them like bloody mary. They run on less resources too compared to felines or hounds. You are dismantling a loitering munition to make a glorified land mine. Parrots are surperior choice.
>>5054476Cats and dogs are also innately liked by humans while the smartest parrot is still just a bird. A parrot can fly, but a dog could lead an army.
>>5054478>Cats and dogs are also innately liked by humans while the smartest parrot is still just a bird.Pirates disprove that this exclusive to cats or dogs. A dog or a cat could lead an army, but a parrot could lead an armada
>At the end of World War II, the Allied forces wanted to make sure that Nazism didn't rise again in Germany. So they implemented a program of denazification, making it a criminal act, punishable by up to three years in prison, to display Nazi symbols such as the swastika or to give the Nazi salute.>However, they encountered resistance from an unusual quarter: a 15-year-old white, female, South-American parrot named Laura who lived in a cage at Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo. This bird had the disturbing habit of greeting visitors by loudly squawking the phrase 'Heil Hitler' as she bobbed her head up and down.>The zoo had acquired Laura at the beginning of 1949, buying her from a dealer in Hamburg for DM 120 – Laura said nothing intelligible during her first week, leading the staff to fear that she wouldn't be a talker. But during the second week she revealed her vocal abilities, though in an entirely unfortunate way. As her caretaker, Joachim Herzner, entered her cage for her morning feeding, she greeted him with a cheerful "Heil Hitler!" Herzner initially wasn't sure if he had heard her correctly, but then she repeated the phrase, leaving absolutely no doubt.>It soon became clear that Laura's "Heil Hitler" wasn't a one-off performance. It was her favorite phrase, which she repeated over and over. She regaled everyone who approached her cage with it, including the children and American soldiers who were frequent visitors at the zoo.>People came to see Laura, thronging around her cage, trying to encourage her to say her signature line. The zoo staff appreciated the crowds, although they realized, to their dismay, that they had inadvertently become hosts for a "cheerleader for the führer." Zoo officials also worried that Laura's Heil Hitlers weren't just an embarrassment. Because of the anti-Nazi laws, they might actually be illegal as well.>And then zoo officials discovered, to their horror, that they possessed another Nazi-saluting animal: an elephant named Stefi.
