I've been researching ferrets and I love everything about them.... but how bad is the smell, really?
>>
I'm gonna sound like a stinky fella but after years of having one as a kid, as an adult now remembering the smell it was fine. It's like someone wearing a deodorant.
>>
They smell musky, but it's not that bad as long as you keep their enclosure clean and feed them a proper diet. Also males smell more than females, but neutering them decreases the smell by a lot

Thanks anons, I may bite the bullet and start building a setup for a bonded pair.

It's pretty bad. It sticks to clothing and permeates the house. Everyone will know you own ferrets.
