Now I know why they have to say dinos had feathers. They found a feather in the fossil records the predates the time when birds were thought to have evolved. Instead of changing their theory, they doubled down and said "Well, birds didn't exist yet, and here is a feather, therefore dinosaurs had feathers." They did this instead of considering the possibility of birds existing at the same time as dinosaurs.

Proof?

Birds as a species were native to Antarctica and never made a serious population outside of it until competition died off.

We're going to find bird fossils that'll blow your mind assuming the ice hasn't grinded it away
>>
>>5060339
No, idiot. They found non-avian theropods with feathers. They also found ornisthicians with feathers.

The issue here is what you define as a bird? anatomically modern birds date back to around 72 million years ago and they are clearly closely related to a group of more primitive who are in turn related to even more primitive group and so on back to the mid Jurassic. When they were clearly feathered dinosaurs begging to show very birdlike traits

Why would antartica evolve birds to begin with
>>
>>5060535
It didn’t. Penguins are fish

No they didn't.

>chinktroons can't even tell if Megaraptora are basal coelurosaurs, basal carcharodontosaurs or SISTER TO FREAKING EUTYRANNOSAURS
>they cannot tell if "compsognathids" are basal "coelurosaurs" or juvenile carnosaurs
>still no explanation about how a pretty confident therizinosaur have been found from freaking Hettangian strata
>Carnosauria in the nearly OG wider sense is pretty much proven by now

Nearly half century of maoist revisionist propaganda crumbling before our very eyes!

>chinktroons can't even tell if Megaraptora are basal coelurosaurs, basal carcharodontosaurs or SISTER TO FREAKING EUTYRANNOSAURS
They're some form of basal Coelurosaur, the issue we have with basal Coelurosaus is the only well represented clade is Tyrannosauroids So Evey basal Coelurosaur looks like a tyrannosauroid by comparison because its the ONLY comparison we have.
>they cannot tell if "compsognathids" are basal "coelurosaurs" or juvenile carnosaurs
You mean a handful of genera that plausibly could be Carnosaur chicks that Cau extrapolated on to imply a entire clade are chicks baselessly
>still no explanation about how a pretty confident therizinosaur have been found from freaking Hettangian strata
>confident
No is fucking not, Eshanosaurus is a hugely fucking controversial animal, Its a single fucking jawbone that bears similarities to both therizinosaurs and Prosauropods, lastly we have plenty of Coelurosaurs from the mid and late Jurassic including basal Avialans. So it doesnt "prove" anything other than coelurosaurs could have initially diverged a few million years earlier than previously assumed
>Carnosauria in the nearly OG wider sense is pretty much proven by now
No its not. Tyrannosaurs are provably a linage of predominantly small bodied Theropods barring a few outlier taxa like Yutyrannus up until the dominant global carnosaur apex predators, Carcharodontosaurs go extinct then rapidly adapt similar gigantic size to fill the empty niche left by the Carnosaurs.
