I saw this on my wall tonight and freaked the fuck out but I never kill spiders so even this freaky mfer got a pass. I'm sure it's only around and as big and freaky as it is because it helped keep infestations in my house at bay. You never see a cockroach infestation in the wild of course.I really hope I didn't hurt (her?) when I put a cup on top and slid a paper underneath. I brought her outside and pulled the paper out but I never saw them on the ground. They must have gotten out ok though. But yeah, wolf spider mama? Am I right?
>>5063172That doesn't look like a wolf spider, if just by the eyes being aligned and not mounted back
>>5063172Looks like a very well fed female grass spiderhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agelenopsis
>>5063190Here is a second picture. Are u sure it isn't a wolf spider? I've never heard of a grass spider but I'm not an expert. I'm in the Midwest though if that helps. The pic I took was particularly scary looking but otherwise it seemed kinda normal Wolfie looking but again I don't really know at all.
>>5063195Oh damn? Really? That does look like something I've seen. This pic I took was particularly scary and crazy looking but once it was on the ground it seemed more like a wolf spider maybe? That grass spider certainly seems close too though and I do like to keep my spiders well fed. I go out of my way to ensure even the scariest spiders stay alive in my home or at most just taken outside so it's not strange to see some well fed boys in my home. I ain't Australian so I simply view big spiders as a sign my spider employees are doing good work. That's why I provide certain amenities to them like a nice heated home with a basement that insects probably like to try to break in often. I wouldn't know because my spider bros always kill them though
>>5063204How did you know I'm Australian?
Black House Spider perhaps. Depends how big it is.
>>5063314I'm in the Midwest, it looked intimidating but probably not much bigger than a half dollar, 50% bigger than a quarter Here is another pic with a pattern on the back. The grass spider does seem possible. It was very engorged so I think it was pregnant. I don't think the spider is normally this engorged
>>5063340Black grey pattern like this makes me think Parson spider automatically. But I don't know.
>>5063346DUDE. I saw a little spider I couldn't identify a few months ago and eventually settled on it being a Parsons spider although I'd never seen or heard of such a thing before. If that was the same one I saw all those months back then I am very proud of her. She must have eaten so many bad bugs to grow that big. I placed her outside but it's cold, I hope she's ok
>>5063172Solved 100% with the Parsons spider. They must have gone ham on some insects since I last saw them. I hope they got back inside ok after I put them outside
