Go to real AKC dog shows, meet some breeders, make damn sure they do serious health testing*, meet the parents before the breeding (or at the very least before buying the puppy).*make sure their dogs are registered, make sure the dog's parents and grandparents (ideally even further back) have clean bills of health. https://ofa.org/
