alligators but on a whale watch one time (I guess whales that being said followed by gators) I saw a huge feeding swarm of gannets and dolphins all together hunting fish that was pretty wild

nice czapla siwa
I once saw a porcupine at night near a road in Tuscan countryside. I wasn't driving alone, but I was the only one who saw it, and nobody would believe me. I read up on them afterwards and indeed they are rare, but do live in Italy, and are strictly nocturnal, so it all checked out.

Didn't see them either time, but heard them. The Great Horned Owl is a wonderful piece of work, and almost unique among birds for being vocal in the middle of the night. Doubtless that's why their distinctive call features in a lot of silly old spooky films and sendups thereof.

You will see one eventually if you go out at night alot. Especially if you're somewhere where there's alot of rats running around at night. I've seen them swoop down and grab rats in parking lots 3 times. Once like 10-15ft from me. He was huge. One also swooped my car while I was driving and came within a few feet of my windshield.
