Is the best dog breed of all time in your path>large so can be active and do activities outdoors >very smart so easy to train >not aggressive at all, you fuck to fuck up hard to have an aggressive Golden>perfect family pet good with all ages >aesthetic as fuck Why don't you have a Golden Retriever?
BAMP
>>5070937I've read they're probably the most autistic breed, with their intelect being wildly inconsistent.
>>5071548what does dogtism look like?
>>5071548they're usually considered one of the most intelligent breeds though
This is a sincere question, but isn’t the Labrador simply the superior retriever? What makes the Golden Retriever better than the Labrador in your view?
>>5072914When I was a kid we had a labrador and he was the best. Never had a golden retriever. Labrador > golden (sample size = 1).
They're a bit dysgenic lately. Lots of epic chunguses and le quirky butt swaying hip dyplasia. big heads.
>>5072914>modern labs >anything but over bred overweight food addicted messesThe average modern Labrador doesn't even play fetch anymore. The breed has become something totally different Goldens are still basically goldens
>>5072928There are two kinds, show and field. Show is typically the lighter colored, cream/white/etc. ones you see on social media acting like idiots. Can't stand those. They need constant brushing and grooming and have health issuesField ones are typically the reddish/darker gold ones and they're a lot hardier, healthier and less maintenance Generally, but not always, the redder a Golden is, the more "field" it is. The lighter more cream colored, the more "show" Only women and gays get show line dogs
>>5072951damn seems I am either unobservant or local breed dimorphism is insane. I've been under the impression that goldens were going out of style here and getting replaced by duck tollers/some setters or whatever for pretty coats. But it seems people have just been realizing this. whitepill of the day =)
I love golden retrievers so fucking much and I will never get any other kind of dog. My first one was such a sweet girl and has sold me on them forever.
>>5072959Golden are still considered the default family dog because they're extremely gentle and friendly, not aggressive at all and energetic and active enough for a family that likes to walk around the park and play fetch in a field but doesn't require hours upon hours of it. Duck tollers and Setters all require much more activity than Goldens which, at least in the USA where I'm at, the average person is not willing to put in the time for That being said, when my old cattle dog mix finally passed (she's 11) I'll probably get an Irish Setter or maybe an English Setter next
>>5072950Well, you’ve got both the show and field types of Labradors, the show are the fat one. In my experience Labradors tend to be less prone to anxiety, whereas Golden Retrievers can be a bit more sensitive.Either way, I like both breeds. Personally, I prefer Labradors, especially the field-bred ones, since they’re really capable of putting in the work.
>>5072962Yea I'm in rural/village area, people are quite active, farming, and hiking culture is big. so generally the breed trends are practically driven but still visually influenced. Like the brief merle aussie trend, barf. people caught onto the neuroticism and genes quick thank goodness.glad that field goldens are going strong now.Cattle dogs seem really interesting and clever, but I'm so saddened by all the fatties I see online... I wish your little lady much happiness and fulfillment
>>5072971For me I got a Golden because it's the perfect amount of active for my lifestyle. I had a border collie/German shepherd mix that was literal hell. loved him to death, but that was too much dog for me
Bump for thr white man of dogs
