Bros, check out my fly ass suit!
wow thanks for tossing ai trash where everyone has to look at it
There is an important right and wrong about this picture. The "right" is that it is depicting a real behavior in many Birds, called "anting".Many Birds are affected by parasites known as feather mites. Most have evolved with their hosts to the point that many families or species of Birds have their own familial or specific mites.Water bathing or dust baths help, but may not get all of them. And they will still come back afterwards. To get rid of them, and to keep them from returning, many Birds have learned to seek out those species of Ants that defend themselves with formic acid sprays and/or formic acid laden bites. They will seek out a proper anthill and thrash around over it to aggravate the ants and get them to climb up and release their formic acid, which the Bird will then work into its feathers. Many Birds will also grab Ants in their beak and run them through their plumage, to get into those more infested or hard-to-reach places. What's "wrong" is how it is depicted in that picture. it is not a passive "stand around and just wait for them to blanket you" thing, it is a very active "get down and make them do it" affair.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anting_(behavior)
>>5074320Why couldn't OP post an actual photo of that happening instead of forcing us to look at aislop?
>>5074323>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anting_(behavior)I am guessing either someone that wants to show-off their own prompted slop, or someone that just ran across it and thought "wanna see somethin' cool?"
Then, to salvage this, maybe we can make it a thread about interesting or visually unusual Bird and/or other Animal behaviors.
