>>5076235no, they were bred to go into burrows. bloodhounds have similar facial deformities for scenting and as far as i know they don’t work. it’s hearsay. their temperament makes them stick to a trail without instructions, but most of the top trained scenting dogs are terriers and military shepherd dogs and increasingly fewer police departments use bloodhounds unless they can’t afford shepherd-grade handlers. anyone with a leash can handle a bloodhound for trailing. it’s just their temperament, not their deformities that matters.
