>Can gallop around on land.
>Intelligent enough to pack hunt.
>Horny protrusions on their head.

If you told me there was an island where galloping crocodiles that used to hunt ground sloths in packs existed I'd assume you were talking about some species that already went extinct centuries ago. How the hell are these things still around, it's like they didn't get the memo when the world went through it's "Erase every cool animal" mass extinction stage right before modern times began. I should be looking at grainy black and white videos of the last living Cuban Croc in captivity, lamenting how humanity failed to save them. Not watching videos of them running around in 720p. This feels like a glitch in reality.

They shrunk instead of going extinct

>Speedran island gigantism and island dwarfism to escape extinction.
They're just inputting cheat codes at this point.

Had to look this up, thank you

I went looking for human fatalities reported from this species and, despite behaving aggressively, I could only find one. An elderly guy who was also spearfishing back in 1995.

That’s because they’re only a little over 2 metres on average. Cubans are generally more dangerous at a smaller size than other crocs but crocodilians in general typically only become dangerous at around 3 metres. They can get that big but it’s pretty rare. Also there’s only a few thousand left in the wild and like half are American croc hybrids

They hadn't fully evolved into horned, pack hunting land crocs, so they weren't cool enough to go extinct.
Of course, nearly all surviving individuals are hybridized with American crocs to some extent, so they may yet go extinct.
