My brother found 3 birds that still can't fly and one of them looks like it was hurt pretty badly maybe from the fall. What do you guys think it's going on, is it just weakened maybe from the heat or is it dying? Its posture looks like it's in a lot of pain and I REALLY REALLY don't want to mercy kill it but if there's no hope at all it feels cruel to let it just suffer like that
>>5081013why don't you look up if there is any veterinary nearby? maybe just give it some water and let it rest for a bit
>>5081013Those are European sparrows. If you're in the USA they are invasive.
>>5081231are you suggesting that OP kills these birds?
BumpYou should definitely try checking with a nearby veterinary
>>5081013Those aren't adult birds, they're at an age where they are learning to fly and often seen "stranded" on the ground. The parents will still feed them if they're alive.
Go back and leave them where you found them, and hope their mother is still around. You are not supposed to touch fledglings.
>>5082351damn bro, all these years i thought i was a hero for climbing a tree to put one back in its nest. thought the storm blew him down. did i do any harm?
>>5082417It should be fine. Birds are not like mammals which will reject their offspring if they smell you on them.
