Hi. I’m a 30-yo dude with a little 16-yo dog. She’s been by my side for most of my life. I rescued she from garbage. These last months her health has gone seriously downhill. She went deaf, almost blind, has pelvic arthrosis and gastrointestinal issues. I took her to the vet and he told me all her problems are irreversible, even suggested putting her to sleep.But she still plays with her toys and likes going for little walks. So i decide to do not and just treat her symptoms. Still, I know these could be the last months by her side. To be honest, I’m not ready for that. I know she would finally rest from the pain, but it makes me really sad. I don’t know if I can handle it. It feels overwhelming and I don’t know how to stay strong or accept this part of life. I dont think i could take the decision put her sleep. I prefer to kll myself.Also, I’m an unemployed incel and things with my family are pretty bad, so these days have been really tough. Do you know any books, podcasts, or anything that could help? Thanks
>>5082254The only consolation when my doggos died was that I treated them well and we had a nice time together, without me they could have had a shitty life with some superficial retard. You saved your dog from the garbage and gave her a good life, there's nothing more you can do. If she suffers too much it's best to put her to sleep, seeing them expire in pain won't be good for either of you.
