My cat has gotten this bird, I rescued it in time but it is badly injured. What can I do to help him or at least ease his pain? I feel awful. I cant stop crying
He is trying to fly. Its hot to the touch, has eaten a little bit of fruit and drank some water. I cleaned the wound. I dont know what more can I do. I have no vets available to take him rn
>>5085589anything akin to a wildlife rehabilitation center near where you live?? just try to keep them as calm as possible, put them in a box. don't feed them or give them anything to drink
>>5085590I can only take him by the morning, everywhere is closed by now where I live, I am worried he wont make it til then... He is safe in a box, has clothing around to make him warm. I dont know what else I could do
>>5085594i think they will be alright given the shock hasn't killed them already. you do need to take them to a vet ASAP to get them antibiotics and checked out, but you've done everything you could've done...except in the event of this specific injury, you shouldn't have given them food/water, but you really did try to do your best for them, that's obvious. take my advice and don't check on them frequently, only once before you sleep and once before you take them there. good luck anon

>>5085588>>5085594Cat bites and scratches are virtually always fatally infectious to small animals, especially birds. Even with antibiotics from a wildlife vet administered immediately chances are slim, let alone if you have to wait a day. Put it out of its misery or get someone to do it for you
