i 4chan, I dont frequent this board or website but I really need any help I can get.Today I was walking my golden retriever at a park with my family, everything was fine, until a random black dog (most likely a pit bull or pit bull mix) ran over to us and started attacking my dog. (I mean full on BITING!) My mom did her best to defend our dog, and eventually the white couple who was the owner of the black dog rushed over and apologized. We.. were quite shocked to say the least. The couple scooped the black dog up and left us there. We checked our dog for any injuries, which at the time we didn't see.Fast forward to back home, when my sister found a gash on my dog's arm. We rushed her to the vet and got her antibiotics and ointments.As you can probably guess, my whole family is pretty upset about this whole situation. I don't have the slightest clue on how to find the couple again, since I have such limited information. My plan is to find them somehow and make them at least pay for my dogs medical bills. And if anyone read my rant up to here, do you have any tips or advice on how to identify people online (Twitter, Facebook, instagram, etc) ? Dunno how it works in were you live, but maybe put some posters in the zone in which the attack happened. The posters should have a description of what happened and the dog as well as some burner number to contact you. Search for the persons in the zone some days later after the attack.

There's an app called next door. It's likely some of your neighbors have it. Post what happened on the app and someone might know the couple or the dog.

The 9mm with hollow points works much better because the higher speed makes them expand much better, the .45 ACP can get its hollow point clogged with fur and limit expansion. .

Thank you to everyone who replied to me, it truly means a lot. I dont have a gun but I still appreciate you guys for taking the time to give me some tips.
Taking pictures, getting some kind of documentation from the vet regarding the injuries and notifying the police would've been my idea.Depending on the size of the town you live in, the police might have an idea about the owners. Pitbulls are notorious troublemakers and the people who keep them are usually the same kind. Making the police give out their information though, is unlikely, at least officially. However, they can give advice on what to do or expect.Otherwise, asking around dog parks and veterinary clinics about the owners might be a valid strategy. Many vets don't like dealing with bully breeds.Staking out the park could also work, but might waste a lot of time. Using a small dog camera every time going for a walk might be overkill, but in this case could've recorder the owners.As for searching online, towns here tend to have various dedicated facebook hobby groups, in this case a dog owner's group. After struggling enough with facebook's interface and search function, you might find the owners. If not, try making a discrete post and ask people to message you in private. You might find other victims as well.Sorry about your loss, but you have to pay attention to your doggo especially when there are other dogs around. Or get a cat, they're more aware and menacing, worst case they can put up a hell of a fight.And just like the other anon said, when dealing with pitbulls you have to be quick and decisive. Carry a knife and hack that bastard into pieces like your life depends on it (preferably under the neck or stomach) and call the police ASAP. These attack dogs won't stop biting until either of them is dead. The owners might be outraged and threaten to sue or might outright aggro you, but it's their fault for not controlling the dog and the police will have your back. NOBODY will blame your for defending your doggo and the world has one less baby killer going around.
