Can any small dog be trained catch rats? assuming they were large and strong enough to subdue one?I am presumably moving to a decently sized plot of land soon with all sorts of growing space and am thinking it would be a useful skill for them to have...
>>5095017I used to have a poodle/bichon mix and he would regularly kill mice in the backyard. Rats are a lot nastier tho so i'm not sure
>>5095017In theory yes if the dog is healthy and large enough. It's rather simple too. Start off with pinkies, treats, telling him he's a god boy after he catches or eats it. All of this in an enclosed space
>>5094994carpet, and tile.>>5095000I have that for both the initial spraying (the dog piss spray) and for the wet vac (whatever shark's super pet formula thing is)>>5094995fuck me
>>5095030The thing with carpet is that the piss soaks deep in and you basically need to introduce cleaner and then completely remove it afterwards, which even the best wetvacs dont really do. If not you're just mixing piss and cleaner and leaving it there. I have a bissell big green that does a pretty good job, but it doesn't dry the carpets perfectly. The tool is called a subsurface extraction tool. Maybe it would work if your vac is strong enough, but idk.

Weird question. What mastiff breed has the best nose for tracking? I live in Idaho and am looking for a trail/camp dog that can follow a blood trail. I was looking at Filas but there are only like three breeders in the country and they seem to all be show oriented.

Hello /an/. Been a while since I posted on this board. I had to put my senior dog to sleep this morning due to mounting health complications. Just give an anon a quick prayer if you could, I understand this is a part of having a dog, but it's still rough. God bless.
Any recommendations for a waterproof or washable dog bed for an older dog who keeps pissing herself when she sleeps? The amount of laundry I have to do every day is getting unbearable and the smell is killing me. She's old but not even close to being in "just put her down" territory. It's just the constant leaking
>>5094832>Met dog on walk>Narrow path>Dog starts barking>My dog gets overwhelmed starts barking in turn>Try to walk past them as they're just standing still>My dog pulls towards them>Push my dog on the chest away from the other dog>My dog bit my wrist out of frustration>He instantly deflates right afterwardsI am a failure. He is 3 years old. My autistic social anxiety prevented me from meeting dogs on walks when he was a puppy, and now I am paying the price. Friends, family and strangers were no help at that time either, as they all took the opportunity to greet the puppy, despite me trying to tell them not to.Gonna fucking kms. Ridicule me
>>5096542Take him to a dog park, keep him leashed and away from other dogs. Let him know other dogs like him exist and they get to have fun and he doesn't. Do that a few times and then maybe let him play with the other dogs unleashed but be close and keep an eye on him in case he starts another fight. That could help

>>5094881If a man wishes to TEST HIS METTLE by grappling with a small dog like a chihuahua well by golly, it’s a free country isn’t it? A chihuahua on a Friday night is a good time indeed. No one cares if a chihuahua is happy.
>>5095017A chihuahua cannot be trained for any activity of any kind unfortunately. Its genitals shrink when responsibility is asked of it. Such is the way of the chihuahua. And so in addition to banding them until their genitals fall off, this is why you need to keep your chihuahuas contained in small areas. They cannot be trusted in large open rooms. They need to be boxed in and contained like the vermin curr they are. Down with the chihuahua breed. They truly aren’t dogs are they? And this is why it is important to remember that they are property.

My dog passed recently and I want another one but all my shelters are full of gross pit bulls, do I go to a breeder and spend $800 or are there other options? I kinda want a goofy golden or maybe an active Border Collie
>>5096956You could post on Next Door or something asking if someone doesn't want their dog anymore. Sometimes old people or losers just can't take care of their dogs anymore and would rather abandon it.Rip to your little dog
>>5096956>I kinda want a goofy golden or maybe an active Border CollieThose are going to be hard to come by unless you live near a lot of impulsive rich people. GSDs and Huskies are cheap and plentiful on Craigslist if you're not picky. Breeders occasionally rehome returns and get rid of dogs that are unsuitable for breeding/competition, those are a good deal if you're patient.
Do any of you guys have experience with standard poodles or dobermen? I want a smart dog, but not super neurotic or obsessive like some working dogs or herding ones get.
Its wild how many people buy french bulldoga and throw them outside or leave their gate open and the dog gets out. I just acquired a tricoat frenchie who was obviously lost and exhausted. Looks like I got a new dog.
>>5097076It's amazing how many people want those abominations. My coworker has one and all she does is tell me about having to take it to the vet for stomach problems, breathing issues, constant diarrhea , etc.
im getting a 4 month old puppy today, he hasn't had all his shots yet (missing rabies) and I live in the city where lots of people have dogs, I should have him stay home for the most part until he gets his last shot, even for peeing and pooing right?
>>5097104If it is just rabies you're fine.
>>5094832I'd like your opinions on something. I'm in a rare situation where I like and respect my coworkers. They are intelligent people who are competent at their jobs. That said, one of them has a female pitbull that she occasionally brings into the office. Now, this is not a smashed and modified sports shitbull. This pitbull only has three legs and is seemingly very sociable, atleast with people, I admittedly haven't seen her around small animals or children. No spooky "smile", no growling, no aggressive behavior. Just a half crippled dog that demands pets whenever she sees a person. My question is am I brain rotted for still not relaxing and being concerned that this crippled potato will snap and bite one of the elderly men I work with?
>>5097282even a three legged pit can maul a kid or old dude
>>5096994I grew up with a standard poodle. She was pretty smart and also a big sweetie, a great dog overall.
>>5097282It's still an incredibly powerful dog so it's good to be cautious just not to the point of being a sperg about it.
>>5097293Yeah, thats pretty much what I've been doing. I'm not around dogs very often and have seen enough videos to know what these animals are capable of that I never fully relax. >>5097284As of now everything seems fine, but I know their personalities can change in an instant. I'm actually wondering if my coworker has the dog medicated, the behavioral pattern I've noticed is when she sees or smells a human, she'll walk up to them, wait for her mandatory headrub/pats, if not given, she'll climb the person, and then sit in the middle of the group of people.
>>5097291Were you able to groom them yourself? Or is groomer the only way

After our GSD/Kelpie girl died in 2024, my partner and I are finally keen to adopt a new dog and I found a Heeler/Maltese/Shih Tzu puppy who seems like he'd be perfect. OK so besides pitties and chihuahuas are there any dog breeds you hate?I hate Boxers. They look so dumb and the only one I met was a doofus.
>>5098208I want to watch television and films with my dog. My cats are super affectionate, but neither will actually cuddle through a movie. Two more whole (work) days until we go to meet him. I'm really excited like an idiot. The parents' owners seem really nice but I'm too autistic to know if I'm supposed to keep making small talk all week.
>>5098269I'm not sure if hate is the right word but I can't trust German Shepherds and have instinctive aversion to their presence. It's the only breed I've had numerous aggressive encounters since childhood.
>>5098269It doesn't rise to the level of hate, but I generally don't like molossers. Retarded and designed to be as ugly as possible. Pyrenees and rottweilers are kind of neat though, and probably some other breeds I'm not aware of.I don't have anything against chihuahuas. I don't enjoy small dogs because you can't really wrestle or cuddle with them, but I don't dislike them.>>5098286It's crazy that GSDs used to be the mauling king until pits became prevalent and started completely dominating the statistics. Now they look absolutely tame in comparison.

>>5098286This but with blue heelers
>>5098269if i hated dogs why would i be here?
>>5098278I remember the couple weeks I had to wait before I picked up my dog. I was so excited and nervous for the entire two weeks after I confirmed I wanted the puppy. It was almost all I could think about.Mine cuddles, but not for extended periods of times usually. My cat will lay with me right next to my face for hours if I don't get up. It's kinda funny watching vids on my phone with her. She likes those cat videos with the birds or mice moving around on them.
>>5098402My GSD/Kelpie girl was so overwhelmingly loving, she could cuddle on me all day every day if allowed. She died just before Christmas '24, and we finally reached the point where we agreed that we wouldn't resent a new dog just for not being her.Next week he'll be left alone in 3/2/2 hour bursts while I work, but I'm close enough to check back and let him out to pee etc. I was thinking of leaving the TV on for him in between but is that going to cause the same issues as giving a baby screen time? kek
>>5098269Hating animals is textbook sub 80 IQ behavior
>>5098424Even as a puppy he was rather aloof for a gsd. Usually more interested in the environment than people. He is still kinda like that, but has become more cuddly as he's gotten older. He's also addicted to cobbing, which is pretty cute and sometimes painful.I crated mine like that when he was a puppy and he seems to have turned out fine. I did not crate at night. My bedroom was puppy proofed so I just kept him in there with me. Now he just likes napping and chilling in his crate. He gets a little fussy if he doesn't have access to the room with crate, but it's not too big of a deal.Mine pays almost no attention to screens. Idk if it's a good idea or not really. If it excites him too much I wouldn't do it.
luv me sum dogsters.
Owning a German shepherd has been interesting. She is like a machine with laser focus. Always waiting for the next task. There really is no "off" switch except sleep. Only tolerates being pet but has to make physical contact at night. She is crazy smart and seems to know exactly what I want her to do. I don't think I'll ever have another type of dog ever again.
>>5098523Not to toot my own horn, but I have always raised really calm, personable cats and dogs and I'm absolutely certain that it all comes down to respecting an animal as an individual of it's species. It can be hard since a lot of animals have destructive natural instincts/requirements and a lot simply cap out with how far they can learn, which probably fucks up most people/pet relationships desu, but German Shepherds (or the ones that I have known) completely transcend other breeds of dog. They're eerily intelligent, like corvids. If you truly integrate one into your family, it's something else.
>>5098523>german dog is germanArbeit macht frei
>>5098523>has to make physical contact at nightI was watching a shepherd one time. I woke up unable to breathe. She was laying with her face on my face and her lips were making an airtight seal over my nose and mouth.

>>5098523My shepard only loves me at an arm's distance. She tolerates petting, but absolutely hates any kind of cuddling. She's also ten years old now, with one hip shot (not dysplasia, it's an old injury from when she got clipped by a car, and wear-and-tear), and cranky as all hell. Zero patience for stranger dogs. I still love her to bits. Shepard's are probably the breed I'll stick with when I'm ready for another.

My last dog lived to 14 and never slowed down. Cancer finally did it.
>>5098599It's fine to let a dog off lead if they spot a roaming cat.
>>5098599Not really. It depends on if they’re a pitbull and what they’re doing. Unlike cats loose nonpitbull dogs are just accidental escapes and should be returned to their owners. Loose cats on the other hand are a pandemic scale issue that people do on purpose because they’re in denial over how bad cats smell.
>>5098523When I had a GSD, she was a bit of an outlier. Dumb as rocks. But loved "patrolling" around the fence line of our yard and she was super sweet. But she did things like run into walls and furniture when she got the zoomies. I also suspect her eyesight wasn't too good though either.
Update: He wants to be held like a baby. Like he'll paw your arm until you pick him and then he rolls on his back and goes floppy. He was the last puppy left because he showed no interest whenever people came to see them, so nobody wanted him.. But as soon as we got there he ran over for a big cuddle and brought us his ball. >>5098685>>5098424I've created a monster.
>>5098705Look for trainers who specifically train hunting and herding dogs, terriers, or sighthounds. So they know they'll getting an exhausting play session regularly but outside of that there's no biting, chewing, chasing etc

Please show me the best solution to walking two dogs at once that only requires one hand to hold them both.
>>5098761I have to use two hands, two leashes. One is a husky that can pull hard sometimes.
>>5098777No, please. There must be a better way. One of my dogs pulls a lot and the other is an easy walker just like yours.I've been using a splitter for a single leash, but it's not ideal. The double lead swivel leashes look like complete shit also.
Can definitely tell the lil guy is teething. He was getting so frustrated trying to fall asleep until he chomped down on his kong teddy. He's taken really well to redirection from chewing furniture and learned 'ta' to let go of toys already.

>>5098822My main problem with leashes is that they always get tangled unless you have no slack on them. Not too bad woth one leash, but two makes it very difficult. You ever hear about the 3 body problem in physics? Imagine you're one part of that with 2 dogs pulling at different rates as the other 2 bodies. Impossible. Nice drawing btw
>>5098641>obsessed with pitbulls I let my girl out without a leash whenever she has to pee
If all goes well I'm adopting this little Shorkie guy on Sunday. Apparently his only problems is he marks when left alone(easily fixed with a belly band), and howls and yelps when left in a crate. So with the crate stuff - do I have to be a bit of a dick and just leave him in the crate until he accepts it? My last dog was the same way and our solution was just to not crate him. They say crate training is good because it gives the dog a place to retreat to when they're overwhelmed or what have you but if he's anything like my last dog he might just not like crates
>>5098599They say that especailly in regards to hiking with a dog, but some trails just have navigation that's hard to do with a leash. Obviously the best solution is to avoid those trails but if you hike you never know every trail inside and out
>>5098879the only reason he'd howl and yelp in a crate is because what's happening outside seems more interesting or because it feels like a punishment. So if he has toys and treats associated with the crate he should come to like it. If he still whines it's because he doesn't like to be left out on his own, which should be addressed first by giving him downtime in his own space so he learns to occupy his mind alone in positive ways before putting him in the crate
Does anyone have experience with having a baby in a house with a corgi? We have an untrained corgi (only taught "sit") so he's always wrecking things, is very loud and likes randomly marking around the house. Husband has refused to train him and castrated it when he was 6 so now the peeing habits are stuck forever. He says he will build a fence before the baby is botn to put the dog outside, but is that honestly a good choice to make for a dog that has been indoor his whole life? I honestly don't know what to do and if I'm just being too paranoid about this. I wouldn't mind having a dog with a newborn, this one's just too crazy at times to have a toddler roaming around freely in the house.
>>5098906training a dog proved too much of a hassle and still you retards decided to have a baby?l to the mao
>>5098906>>5098941This nigger really thinks a dog doesn't need training. Also no dog should be left alone with a child. That's how they get bit in the face.
>>5098806He's 11 weeks this Saturday. :3c He's been really good about reactive barking, no howling or growling, but he is very vocal especially when he's playing with his toys. I really don't want to discourage basic vocal communication in any animal, like our cats are super talkative, it's just super cute. I'm guessing it's a Maltese / Shih Tzu thinf because my mum's Maltese X used to do the same thing. He woke up and had a lil whine because he needed to go out, then came back and sat so quietly and patiently until we actually got up. I've always been a 'no dogs in the bed' person because gross.jpg but he's changing me.
>>5098990>I've always been a 'no dogs in the bed' person because gross.jpgI drape an old sheet over my entire bed including the pillows. It's effective at keeping dog funk off of the lower layers of bedding and super easy to change when it gets too dirty.
>>5098990I get the no dog in bed thing but I'm sure alot of dog owners don't even remember to wash their hands after petting their dog. Then they put those same hands on their phone, their face, their food, etc...yes germs are gross but you'll never be 100% clean if you live with any animal.
>>5099017>wash their hands after petting their doglmao really? If you're this neurotic owning a dog probably isn't for you
>>5098945corgis are good dogs though
>>5099028Train your dog you stupid idiot Even good dogs can get stressed out by toddlers who don't know boundaries with animals
>>5099022I mean, I just gave him a big cuddle and my hands absolutely smell like puppy piss (and grass) now. It's going to depend on how often your dog goes outside, gets bathed, their habits etc. I can briefly pat my mate's dog on the head and my hand will come back black so of course I'm going to wash them.He has had a lil bath though and I took the sheets off to wash. He buried himself under the pillow and fell asleep. :3c I want to make him a pillow fort in his bed.
>>5099037i'm not that other anon
just got off work time to feed the pibble some toddlers
You want a dog /an/?WELL HERE'S YOUR DOG!!!
>>5099264would
>>5099264Looks kind of fat
Anyone else in these threads because they don't have the money for a dog right now and just want to look at other people's dogs to feel better about that?
>>5099264LovelyWhat a great dog
>>5099262Marciefag’s new split personality

>>5099348big if true, but how does this correlate with pitbull anon?
>>5099321I'm here because I can afford my dog but don't have any friends to spam with him.He really likes sleeping under pillows.
>>5099353Aww, he looks comfy.
We're kind of past keeping him off of the sofa / bed / soft furnishings kek. But he's so polite in every other way and isn't barking or jumping on people, so whatever. I can replace pillowcases.
>>5099356CUTE! Ty for posting your new pup. Just make sure you always help him onto whatever seat or bed he wants to get on as a puppy. They can damage their joints if they jump up onto stuff too much.
Hmm, is it a bad idea to furnish my apartment with semi-expensive Japanese furniture while also adopting a dog who marks when nervous? Don't want the paper lamps getting covered with piss.
>>5099279Vet says she could lose a few pounds. Though I don't know how, I take her for walks and the park all the fucking time and she barely seems to eat most days.
>>5099439Feed her less. Exercise is great, but it's not going to do shit for weight unless you're running her for hours a day. Most foods' feeding guides call for way too much. You've got to find the equilibrium point yourself. With the mid-tier kibble that I feed and guessing that she should be 50-60lbs lean, 2-3 cups a day would be a good starting point. Treats and table scraps are another common source of excess calories. You don't have to cut them out entirely (I share food with my dog all the time), just be mindful of it.
>>5099461Yeah I feed my dog about 2 cups a day. I'm guess it's my parents, my mom adds cheese to her food because she's worried about her not eating for some reason.
>girl is shedding >want to sleep without coughing on dog fur>want her to sleep by me like she always does
>>5099677Get your slicker brush and get to work!
my puppy chewed through a lamp wire, no yelp or any noise, and he's eating and drinking fine and gums look perfectly pink. woudl this warrant an emergency vet visit?
>>5099865Nah you're fine unless that wire was like super rusty.
Could just be cause it's day 2, but my adopted Shorkie is a very quiet little guy. Very gentle but he feels almost like he's depressed at times even if he likes to cuddle. Hopefully time makes him a bit livlier
>>5099865Will be fine unless dog consumed wires or small pieces of the wires.
>>5099865
>>5099919had a cat liek that, ruined so many cables
>>5099663>my mom adds cheese to her food because she's worried about her not eating for some reasonMake her knock it off. Shit in her toilet tank or something. My mom is the same way though. I think it's a woman thing. She wouldn't give my dogs food without my permission, but she's always telling me they're too skinny. Meanwhile, her 30lb terrier that should have been 20lb had knee problems for most of its life and only lived to around 10.
>>5099356This is the sweetest dog in the world
my mom's dog has cataractsShe's asking me to make her something to keep him from bumping into stuff
How do I get my dog to stop eating dryer sheets etc? He has a plethora of chews and toys but he always goes for shit he shouldn't. I've caught him multiple times in the act and very sternly "No" but he keeps on doing it.

What's the most reliable way to tell if a dog is single coated? It seems like mine is, but I'm not certain.>>5100572It's a meme you dip
>>5100576stay away from goats
>>5100576Part their coat down to the skin and look for a second coat underneath the first one. It's pretty obvious.

>>5100626I'm a fool for not liking incest? interesting
>>5100590It's a stupid question I know but it feels weird trying to prove a negative. Comparing her to my other dog though I'm now pretty confident that she is a single coated freak.
everyone say hi to my doghe's a pug mix
>>5100797Hello.
>>5100797>pug mix with a snoutgood stuff
Somebody said fuck DOGS and fuck DOG OWNERSWhy?
I think I'm anti spay now. My older dog just keeps pissing herself constantly. Everything smells like piss. Indo laundry like 2 times a day, the pills the vet gives her aren't doing shit.
>>5100810The most obvious tell that routine desexing is bullshit is that the people who shill for it either directly benefit from it (vets) or are also very vocal about other completely retarded opinions ("adopt don't shop" / "it's how you raise them")
>>5100803Fuck dogs? I don't think that's legal
>>5100810Spayed as a puppy or after a few heat cycles? Because it does make a difference.
>>5100822She was adopted when she was like 8, I'm not sure when she was spayed
How to cope with doggy dementia? My poor old lady is walking into walls and shit now. She's not ready to be put down or anything yet but she's getting close to the end
Gave my shepard back to God an hour ago. I am very much not cash money. She went with tired legs, a full stomach on beef and honey-roasted vegetables, in the home she grew up in. The vet was the same one that has seen her her whole life.I miss her so much it hurts.
>>5100904Fucking sucks, anon. I'm sorry.
there a way to bind an animal's soul to one's self?
>>5100904I'm so sorry. Had to do this over 2 years ago. The pain was unbearable. It took forever to get to mostly acceptance but you will think about and miss them forever.Wouldn't have it any other way. Forgetting about her is out of the question. Hopefully your heart heals faster.
>>5100883This is difficult. In time they will often invert their sleep schedule. Sleeping in the day and being restless at night. It's so difficult to determine when the dogs quality of life is at the point where it isn't getting anything out of life anymore. Only you can be the judge. And don't pick on yourself if you get it "wrong." During my grief, I beat myself up for simultaneously giving up on her and making her wait too long for release. It took a year to realize the b.s. trap my mind put me through. Both can't be true. You're not gonna be satisfied with putting a dog down, no matter the timing. Dogs are family. Their loss is awful.
>>5100883>t. >>5100904The one thing I'm grateful for is that I didn't wait too long. She was riddled with cancer, and had started drooling uncontrollably, but without pain yet. I knew it was time.I let her go when life was still good and worthy, and I know I'll be happy with that call for the rest of my life. I promised her when I got her, that I would not let her be in pain, or to keep her just because I was being a coward.I'm, of course, not telling you to put her down. But I am giving you my point of view. She went four hours ago, and the pain is still burning fierce. But I will never regret it. It was time.
>>5100942As a guy who went the coward route, This. You did right by her. Releasing her. Even if it burdens you with the loss. The thing is the loss is coming anyway. You can only delay it. Not avoid it. So the instant the dog isn't having it anymore, that's the time.I only pray that next time I can be stronger. I'm so sorry baby. God was calling you and I resisted.
>>5100950My brother in spirit, I am embracing you. Do you want to talk about your dog?
This Everytime I give him a bully stick. It's covered in blood. Surely this a sign to cease giving him these, right? He's still desperate for them
>>5100965that was my dog chewing sticks. drops of bloody spittle on it. it's just crimping the gums as they chew, that bleed easily. it doesn't hurt the dog, keep giving them. Gums heal quickly.
>>5100965It's a sign you need to go to the vet for dental checkup. The mouth is the problem. Not the bone.
>>5100904Sorry dude. Shepherds have so much soul and they're so loving, that's rough.>>5100965I think that's normal. I've seen dogs bleed from chewing on tennis balls.
>>5100965Monitor him when he chews so you can see what the cause is. Remember that dogs generally don't get cavities but gum disease is common.
>>5100972>boneHeh
My vet just charged me $500 just to tell me I should an hero my dog. She's totally cognitive, what the fuck?
Let me out I’m a caged animal
>>5100990an hero the vet
Vets are such a fucking scam.
>>5100986What are they symptoms and how serious is this? I'm trying to get my life started with a part time job, so spending another 200+ on a vet visit isn't something I wanna do
>>5100990>>5100998Mine casually asked if I wanted to add a flu shot onto my dog's annuals without mentioning that it was 2 $50 shots. I thought it was going to be like $15. They also doubled their prices since the year before, so all in it was $500. Fucking scumbags.>>5101003 (NTA)Bad breath and if it's severe trouble chewing. It's probably fine though. Just wait until your next appointment unless he's not eating or something.
>>5101010>Just wait until your next appointment unless he's not eating or something.I haven't noticed any other symptoms. No blood in his bowl, no trouble chewing, just blood on his bully stick. I should be free to spend all the money in the world on him soon, but I got a lot to do now. Thanks bro
>>5100990An hero? For what? Is the dog terminal? Is the dog suffering?
>>5101049No, she's just old and has a bit of an incontinence problem. It's not her time yet. Killing her would be absurd.
>>5101057What condition did the vet state as reason?
>>5101064Just that she's old and pees when she's uncomfortable. She did leak at their office which I cleaned up and maybe that's why their first recommendation was just to kill her. I won't be going back to them.
>>5101011Could just be gum disease, clean his teeth more often and see if it stops
>>5101067Yeah that's insane. Hell senior humans piss themselves. We give them Depends to wear. Unless Canadian I guess.
>>5101089Is gum disease not a thing that requires a vet visit?
>>5100965should see the toothbrush after i brush if that scares you
Switching to the fresh stuff even if it's expensive. Fuck it
>>5101208Buy discount turkeys and grind them up.
any anon doing something for their dogs today?
>>5101222Gave him an umbrella when he went outside while I was left to get soaking wet, only for him to run away from the umbrella and throw a fit when a puppy was near us minding it's fucking business
>>5101208Buying meat in bulk is cheaper at least where I live. Adding rice/beans/veggies is cheaper than buying canned food. I tried to do a ton of research for feeding my dog what he needs, but somehow the homemade dog food community is littered with negative Nancys. Or shills trying to get you to buy whatever big name brand kibble there is. I swear it wasn't always like this back then people would literally just feed their dog whatever table scraps they had and those dogs lived fairly long lives.
I’ll bully your stick if you catch my drift
>>5101228Giving your dog a meal that has 100% of the vitamins, minerals, and macros including amino acid profile they need is easier and safer in the long run than relying on a naturally varied diet to provide all those things. Consider how most humans are vitamin deficient in one way or another. If you can make your own food that has enough overall variety to make sure they don't become nutrient deficient than they'll definitely be healthier overall.I have a sneaking suspicion those vitamin/mineral blends in essentially every commercial dog food or contaminated with bad things just like cheap human vitamins are, but worse.
>>5101228I've noticed my boy getting all uppity since I switched him to fresh. I'm glad he has an appetite but now he's all entitled
>>5101168Yeah, if it's bad enough. If it's minor, just keeping the teeth and gums clean may reverse it, no vet needed.
>>5101284Thanks bro, I'll look for a brush
Guys.... she's dead.... ;_;
