Opossums are not immune to rabies. They are very highly resistant to it due to their lower body temperature. It is still possible for an opossum to contract rabies. For example, if an opossum has a fever or otherwise higher than normal body temperature, the virus could potentially survive until it can infect the nervous system. Its pretty rare, but still possible.

The lyme part is true though. I think I saw somewhere that their blood actively destroys lyme if a tick bites them.
