the wild donkeys of Moreno Valley are one of the few perks of living in the Inland Empire and really in California in general.

Those are feral donkeys, not wild donkeys. All the native wild equids in the New World are extinct.

The true wild Bactrian camel - the only remaining wild camel species - is endangered and no one cares

That is obviously a dromedary. But the wild bactrians are amazing

The former head of long-defunct Pan-Am airlines,Sam Pryor, kept gibbons at his hideaway on Maui. They're buried with him and his wife out there, a few graves over from Charles Lindbergh.

There were feral donkeys roaming the lava fields of western Hawai'i island until fairly recently. Now it's mostly goats.

The hog nose snake.
>can splay its skin like a king cobra
>non venomous
>plays dead when threatened, rubs it's feces on its self to smell dead
>plays dead so strongly a youtuber can directly handle it for 5+ minutes while it plays dead
Cutest snake ever.

Coyotes. From the densest and richest suburbs of Munster IN to the remote yet intensively cultivated stretches of northern Illinois where I live. Amazing creatures, comparable to, say, Cecropia or, say, African Greys.

>Opossums are very cute.
the fact that they can carry close to a dozen babies on their back is so unique. as far as i know anyway. there's plenty of animals that carry like 1 or 2, but is there even any other animal carrying 3+ like this?

Yotes are shit tier
>>
>>5101283
Coyotes. In terms of range they're absurdly underrated, and are to be seen and heard almost anywhere in the Midwest, from the dense leafy suburbs of Munster IN to the almost treeless expanses of rural corn country 200 miles west of there.

This. People hate them because they are way too successful. Really if any animal is hated by humans it means they are doing well adapting to the modern world

Most people are retarded and think nature is this perfect static entity and that any sort of change is automatically bad. And by people I am also including many soientists, environmental groups, and goverment agencies, because their efforts to "correct" the ecosystem end up fucking it up even more by throwing it out of balance and/or dousing it in herbicides/poison.

I get possums from time to time in my catch-em-alive traps, I let them go on the far edge of my property away from my chickens. I've heard they domesticate pretty well, but they live like 2-3 years tops, which is a bummer.

Weird little goobers, they don't seem to have much of a survival instinct since you can walk right next to one and it'll just keep rooting around without a care.

It continually amazes me how beloved horses are despite being some of the most uninspiring domesticated animals. They aren't even the best domestic equid, since donkeys exist. Camels are more likeable animals you can ride/use as a pack animal. Elephants are the more lovable beast of war. Even yaks are more compelling.
