Thinking of having one as an indoor cat for my small house, what am I going to be in for? I work shifts but have periodic days off so I think I can balance spending time with them.>why Sphynx?Less hair and if I am having indoor I might aswell have a cat designed for it.
>>5105605They smell bad (as in, worse than cats usually do) and their asshole sunction cups onto flat surfacesJust trap an outdoor cat and drug it until it likes staying in your house and will kill politicians on command ala mkat-ultra
>>5105605You have to bathe them very often, like once a week.
>>5105614>their asshole sunction cups onto flat surfacesLol wut>>5105643That doesn't seem too unreasonable
>>5105605>>5105643Someone I know has two, they get quite greasy, also they look alien, but still behave as cats.
>>5105643So how often do you bathe if you think thats "very often"
>>5105658That's very often for a pet, retard
>>5105658I dont bathe mine unless they stink and they never do, or if its just needed. If you want a primo cat all youre really looking for is one that isnt gonna shit on the floor, shed a lot, and has a good tempermant. Go to a shelter and look for one in a cage that has shit in the box, is chill, will let you hold it, and doesnt shed a lot when you run your hand on them a few times and its easy to tell which one will just fit for you. A sphinx is like saying you want the 8/10 difficulty cat, but the average any other chill cat is 1/10. If you just reallllllly like them then get one but if youre trying to make it work then you just need one that fits. Also 6mo-10mo old so you can play w them and watch em grow lazy
>>5105643Mine hates baths and doesn’t smell much.
>>5105605>SphinxGet this instead if you're breed fagging. In addition to not being butt ugly, they're also not utter assholes.
>>5106386>Cornish RexIf you're getting a Rex you might as well get a Devon Rex
is no hair why people get these things? because i never understood it.
>>5107246It's a mix of things. They have a very lean and defined look as well as incredibly clingy and active temperments when compared to other breeds. Most people get them for the temperment more often than not as the vast majority of Sphynx lines are actually derived from Siamese stock originally with a greatly increased metabolic rate, making them even more high energy than the Siamese breed. Throw in the fact that they are very warm, are a very unique tactile experience to pet and because they are so high energy that they constantly want to play or get fussed and it is not too difficult to see the selling point without even considering the lack of fur making them slightly less messy than other house cats. Also if you heavily pat them it sounds like you are smacking a piece of ham.>tldrThey are as close to a domesticated goblin as you can possibly get in terms of looks and temperment.
>>5107236This cat looks like it would wish me ill health
>guys i have an idea>cats..>but even more dirty and disgusting
>>5107258That's only if you live in a smeltering hellhole
