My university biology professor told us that nature is essentially "matriarchal." For a moment, I didn't quite understand her argument, so she cited several examples from various phyla where there is a "matriarchal" structure, and concluded that no animal is truly patriarchal; there are only patriarchal aspects. She said that lions, for example, cannot be patriarchal. Does anyone know if there is serious research on this? She seemed a bit biased to me.

>All of nature is matriarchal
Most plants have both male and female parts
Bees have three genders, queen, worker and drone
Clownfish can change gender based on sociological conditions.
In sea horses the men give birth
In Hyenas the females have the bigger penis.
To conclude all of nature is one way or the other is so ignorant of a statement I can only assume a woman made it.

Literally, and I'm not being ironic, my friend said the same thing. Regardless of our conclusions about human life, I don't believe it's useful to use animals as a benchmark, and I think she did it consciously, trying to legitimize the critical theory of "patriarchy" based on nature.

She is correct, and humans are not naturally patriarchal
>>5112173
Yes? And?

You didn't explain why she's right, you just agreed. That was exactly simplistic; perhaps you could expand on that argument.

The better question is: who cares?

It's not worth your time, energy, or attention to engage with these activist teachers. You aren't going to convince them of anything, ever, because they aren't arguing from a logical place. It's purely emotional therefore even attempting discussion is a waste of time and effort.

Just roll your eyes, turn in the assignments, and leave them to their insanity.

Matriarchy results in males evolving into the dumbest, most violent, most virile brutes possible or into worthless walking sperm sacks and is the antithetical condition to “civilization”.

All because females get mate choice primacy, and either get it, or have it defeated by pure violence and savagery. Organized systems that give males more choice are rare and only found in a few higher species - most of them avian.
There are also a few egalitarian species where both sexes get a relatively even share of choice. Wolves, for example. They are also naturally organized and civilized, so civilized a wild wolf actually makes an ok pet.

So in a way, she’s right. Most of nature is the result of matriarchy.

>humans are not naturally patriarchal
Humans also reproduced by rape for a lot of prehistory and were naturally cannibalistic, without being strongly matriarchal or patriarchal. Patriarchal society was developed and then selected for (making it the justification for the new biological norm) specifically to create a system where women were less prone to being raped because men did not want their women to be raped. “Planet of the rapes” was not a pleasant period in our species development. The human tendency to prey on its own species still continued for millennia as empires raiding for slaves. This didn’t even stop until the past 300 years. The ottomans enslaved more europeans than european jews ever sold. Populations are still raided for slaves in india and africa today.

Human females have no biological consent mechanism and depend entirely on the industry or immediate defense of related males to protect them.

*ever sold africans
Don’t forget to look up the recent history of slaver raids in china. They weren’t always one china, but five competing kingdoms.

What humans are naturally is horrible and you have no idea what horrors you were born too late to witness.

I think you're right, Anon, but it's sad that these teachers are able to practice their profession.

Don't lions fall within the spectrum?

Nice fanfic bro

Its not a fanfic. Matriarchal tribes just got raided and raped until a patriarchal culture took hold to defend its women and limit both sexes carnal impulses. Meanwhile every organized civilization has been functionally patriarchal until its fall.

Even feminists naturally lean towards functional patriarchy, asking men to lord over them, acknowledge that women are powerless before them, and enforce strict sexual morality (while chanting respect women for looks)

The human female has no innate way to defend her sexual consent. The knives, the guns, the clubs, the fences, are desired, invented, made, and distributed first by men. The police are primarily male. The soldiers are primarily male. Te clergy that fights against religions that protect women less - male. Patriarchy is the result of men not wanting women to be harmed.

Women promptly destroy this every time because the inequality, inequity, and violence required to keep them safe makes them feel bad for the poor babies.
