Prey animals are selfish. They never try to protect eachother. Why are predators protective of eachother than prey animals?

You've never seen footage of a hunt then. They don't attack the pack, they get them to move around and separate juveniles and weakened from the pack. There's tons of clips of big cats getting a kill too close to the pack and getting mauled. Wildebeest and cape buffalos straight up beef predators. One of the few times they categorically won't get involved is in water.
