Has anyone had this happen? Like your pet got outside and could have gotten away easily if they wanted, permutant but instead your pet comes to you or lets you pick them up?

>today my cat got outside and no one noticed, he's a Korat purebred.
>when my mom went into the backyard he saw her and happily ran over to her instead of bolting off to be a wild cat
>he could have easily bolted off and got away
>instead he let my mom pick him up and was friendly instead of abandoning us
>little guy bites all the time, could be he bites because he doesn't like us but he also purrs and cuddles on his own
>turns out he likes us after all and didn't want to run away when he got the real chance
>he's 13

Also another time

>gecko got outside, it was a young tokay (these can easily run away)
>find her inside the orange tree
>she lets me pick her up and bring her back inside and didn't run away from me but could be been scared outside so she stood still but I am not completely sure. still odd she let me pick her up, inside her cage she instantly barked and tries to bite and runs away behind branches or into her hide as fast as possible
>she did accept being fed by me by hand though in her tank
>>
Most my cats go outside but regularly stay within the vicinity.

Dogs I've had to chase a few times, but a few lucky times they just walk up to me. With dogs you gotta make sure they don't think you're playing or else they'll haul ass in the opposite direction

cat bites are a love sign especially if there are licks too

Mine do that EVERY time she got off, I run after her and so she run too
But if I run in the opposite direction, she follow me
