Here's a picture of what a Saimaa ringed seal looks like. They are a critically endangered freshwater seal only found in Lake Saimaa of Finland, with estimated numbers between 400-500 seals left.

Ever since I introduced my mother to the seals of Tokkari center two years ago she's been almost as enamoured with seals than me.Because we're both aspies who live alone and have no reason to mask, often without realizing we make seal noises at eachother all the time as an acknowledgement of the others presence. She goes gyuuu as she passes in the hallway, i make a weddel seal BWEUHHH back and because its so fun we keep going without even realizing. Echolalia is a funny thingAnyway, this month is her birthday and I managed to track down a copy of a seal fandom zine she and I have spoke about before off of a japanese consignment store for a great price. I'm so excited for it to arrive.. it has so many unpublished photos and interviews about popular seals with staff from several aquariums. When it arrives, I'll post photos of all the pages
