it's a pretty bad price, but at the same time, the stuff will last you a long time. if you can afford it without stressing over it at all I would say just buy it. it dries softer than super glue, and it will pay for itself pretty quickly, even at $20.

the issue with freestyle is that it has no endgame
so the endgame in flatground and vert is for the casual "as youre riding" tricks, when youre rolling up a sidewalk you could just get off the board, pick it up, and set it down on the sidewalk but insteas you learn a basic flatground trick to stay on the board
when you see a rail you could get off your board OR you could use some of the movement you've learned doing vert at the park to get down it

there is never a situation where "now im gonna pogo my board" is useful
apply that to nearly all freestyle tricks and youve got a corny dance club on skateboards

This keeps going down the further the durometer scale you go, to other softer wheels being harder to initiate/needs more speed but when you are are actually sliding they are very responsive and confident. IMO you should force yourself to skate switch with every new skill if applicable, and sooner rather than later, because if you think about it otherwise you'd be greatly limiting your versatility and making it more difficult to gain it over the long term. It also helps with evening out muscle growth and wear and tear for shoes, wheels, etc. I also think it helps to use a double kicktail board when starting out to avoid any nose/tail logistics fussing which as far as I know only really matters for the more advanced stuff. There really are no rules to skating switch but best practice would be to have the basics down in a stance that you're comfortable with:

Even then i wouldn't say rush into doing switch. When i was younger switch was rare among locals even if they were super good. Its more common now and kind of a necessity or so it seems like.
I can only do 3 tricks switch - but i'm 36 so I'm content where i am. Learn them if you feel you need to but i would say don't feel pressured like you HAVE to do switch tricks.

What I've tried recently that feel really nice are the independent aftermarket bushings in independents, and supercush in ventures, if you need a replacement for whatever reason. i actually like the stock thunder bushings but you really have to work those in. Krux and Ace sell very nice bushings too but you have to make sure they actually fit in your truck.
