The main source of nude pictures obtained was by multiple people, not nsa, just normal schmucks, by changing the password via "iforgot". Each iCloud account had three questions set, and you just needed the answer of 2 of them.Once they had control of the iCloud account, they could use it to set a new iPhone and then have access to everything saved on iCloud or some program could do that without the need of iPhone. Then some of the rippers (people who ripped the iCloud account) started trading between themselves, some hoarded and never traded...then one day it all blown up, maybe some deal went wrong, but someone leaked something, then someone else leaked in revenge maybe etc...that was the fappening..But that was not the end really...even after that many people still ripped stuff, the sony leak gave people plenty of celebrities emais, so people could try the hack them. But eventually Apple reinforced their security and now every iCloud account have 2 factor authentication. The newest hacks were mostly snapchat hack. (like Dafnee Keen, Andrea Botez, Demi Lovato) So it was not just one person. It was some few people at first, then more, some traded, some leaked, some hoarded....most used the password reset feature..few used real hack...some had control of the account for years (and not just for iCloud, email too), by finding the passwords in the notes. Now it's all over sadly...but there still many sets out there that was obtained with all this not yet leaked...most will be hoarded forever..but some will leak
