Revolutionized console gaming and set the standard for console rpgs going forward. There was Morrowind and Oblivion before, sure, but only people who already knew/cared about Elder Scrolls genuinely loved those. Say what you will about Skyrim, but it was a flashpoint in gaming for its generation, the ripple effect still being felt today.

I just wish I could've stripped the characters fully naked without mods like you could with Daggerfall.

Pretty much. I remember the first character on PS3 I played for 11 hours straight and the sun came up as I got to about lvl 20

I did the SAME THING on the 360 version. I was in university with my walk-in classes being late in the afternoon, so playing until sunrise was the norm. Plus it really says something when even Smash Bros has a Skyrim reference in it.

Still play it to this day, religiously. Got like 500 or so mods on it, and it looks so pretty. Have gotten a few chars lvl 250+.

Lack of material variety for weapons and armour make vanilla rapidly boring.

Legendary game that changed my worldview on gaming. I have 2 words of power tattoos and I just started another playthrough with one of the popular mod collections

possibly the most overrated game in history
