I know I'm socially awkward. I'll interject into the conversation because I'm reminded of some specific thing that I like but that no one else likes and has nothing to do with the conversation, then it just gets quiet until he makes a joke about me. He's good at it and it makes me feel dumb and embarrassed.

Another time I made a slightly negative comment about the appearance of someone in a picture someone had up. I didn't even think about it but it just came out and of course it was someone's family member. I always do shit like that where it's never a huge issue but it makes people uncomfortable.

He's not literally always mean to me but he also says things that embarrass me even when I didn't do anything awkward. If we're all playing a video game he'll make really vulgar comments.

I think it's a combination where sometimes he's just trying to ease the tension I created and I get to be on the receiving end of it, but other times he's just mean because he enjoys it and seeing me get embarrassed. He's good looking and funny and doesn't need me to help prop him up.
