hello and welcome to this weeks spaghetti tuesday ٩(◕‿◕。)۶
this is a weekly thread where anons cook spaghetti and post here to share a meal with their fellow banters.
non spaghetti food is welcome but the primary focus will always be spaghetti as it is availible world wide, cheap and beginner friendly meaning pretty much anyone can take part.

I had fish and chips (mash) yesterday. Don't think I'll be able to get some sketti done today but here's a picture of the fish!

Based thread and happy Tuesday Spaghetti day everyone!
>>
>>23627437
I've never had fish and mash. seems marginally healthier depending on how much butter is in the mash. was that the reason or had they just ran out of chips?
>based thread and happy spaghetti Tuesday everyone!
<3
thanks gon. glad ur here
>>
>>23627443
Oh there was a lot of butter in the mash so it was probably as bad as chips! The Pilot is a well known fish and chips resteraunt in the south east of the UK and is notorious for their big portions. The serve fish with chips, mash, or boiled potatoes. I usually go with mash because I prefer it over chips! If you are ever in Kent or Sussex it's worth taking a trip to the Pilot to experience the best fish and chips the UK has to offer!
>>
>>23627454
>probably as bad as chips
possibly worse if there's enough butter and ur comparing it to thick chips. some resturants use up to nearly 50% butter in mash xD
>the pilot is a well known fish and chips resturant
oh nice, ill check it out if im ever in the are a but I've never ventured further south than Leeds lol. the south of the UK looks rlly nice though so ill probably go some day :) is it possible to get to Sussex while completely avoiding London? I'm trying to see if I can manage to live my entire life without ever going there xD
>>
>>23627478
I honestly don't know if you can avoid London to get to Sussex... Most trains go through London when they get towards the south east. What's stopping you from venturing into the capital? I live there and it's pretty poggers!
>>
>>23627486
there's nothing actually stopping me I just want to see how long I can go without going there xD I've managed nearly 29 years (mostly by accident) so I wanna see how long I can keep this going

>>23627802
no, prawns are just any edible marine shrimp.
langoustines/scampi are a small species of lobster, you don't have them in american waters.
>>
>>23627822
nope, haven't tried them yet, bet they're tasty though.
>>
prawn used to mean the big ones and shrimps the little ones but because the name is not considered taxonomically consistent ppl realised they could get away with selling shrimps as prawns so now its largely interchangeable
>>
>>23627829
I've never eaten them either lol I'm not a picky eater but cannot into eating bugs. I can manage shrimps but they are kinda icky and anything larger or which crawls more I can't even force myself to try xD
>>
>>
>>23627839
ahh, issues with things that have too many legs in general?
>>
>>23628228
only if I'm expected to eat them. I quite like most bugs and dont mind touching them ect but I really don't want to eat them.
I'll never understand people who are scared of terrestrial bugs but happily eat other arthropods like prawns, lobster, crab ect xD

there's meatballs but they are veggie mycoprotein ones because the shop didn't have frozen real ones, they are pretty good but more like sausage than meatball in texture.

thanks, they are by Salvador dali. I can't find any info on if he actually designed them though, they seem to be promotional items for his perfume line or something. the only info i can find is dead ebay and auction house listings. they dont seem to be worth much money either way

eheh
pretty cool though

man i used to find weird things on ebay
i found some way to view the unsorted listings of an entire regional goodwill, like 60,000 items
every 5 or 10 items there'd be something really absurd
found a dark copper colored statue of a chihuahua, which had been damaged by acid rain
i always think about that one

they are made by a company named quorn. idk if u can get them in the states but ur not missing out on much, real meat is a lot tastier

thats cool i love shit like that, its really fun looking through unusual shit from charity shops, car boot sales, junkshops ect.

i hadn't heard of car boot sales, looks interesting
i think my area would be a great place to go to estate sales, if i had much spare money
>the chihuahua statue sounds funny <3
twas pretty good, hehe
>>
>>23629186
>i hadn't heard of car boot sales, looks interesting
I think its more of a uk thing but I'm not sure, seems you guys just do yard sales but maybe in the cities where ppl don't have yards there are some car boot sales.
>i think my area would be a great place to go to estate sales, if i had much spare money
that's the good thing about this shit, you can usually get something interesting for like a couple pounds or significantly less. maybe estate sales are a bit more expensive but u can always just go to a charity/thrift shop or something :)
>>
>>23629336
:o
i guess it could also be worth going to see interesting stuff, even if i don't pick anything up
>I think its more of a uk thing but I'm not sure, seems you guys just do yard sales but maybe in the cities where ppl don't have yards there are some car boot sales.
i know there's often flea markets near cities, idk if those are similar
>>
>>23629483
>i guess it could also be worth going to see interesting stuff, even if i don't pick anything up
yeah it'll be fun
>i know there's often flea markets near cities, idk if those are similar
they are similar in the type of stuff they sell but a carboot sale is more like a cross between a tailgate party and a yard sale. theres usually no partying but the layout ect is like a tailgate party in that everyone parks in a parking lot or similar space and sets up a table at the back of their car

>>

no it would be fucking taco tuesday. are you fucking joking?
>>

I think spaghetti is a good dish for tuesdays because its easy and quick and tuesdays nights ppl are usually feeling drained but not so much that they just want to sleep so they want to do something chill like make some spaghetti and talk to ppl online.
the taco thing was a joke though.

i added olive oil, tomato sauce from a jar, dried basil/oregano, and garlic powder

you can cook rice noodles so they're kind of al dente

ah well, i normally make regular spaghetti actually
the big pot i use to boil spaghetti was in the dishwasher (i guess my parents used it for something), so i had to improvise
are there ethical reasons to avoid it? or are american wheat products bad for you? or what?

asparagus is pretty easy to make, just toss in a pan with butter and heat till soft enough
>or are american wheat products bad for you?
they spray the wheat with a pesticide 'that turn the frickin frogs gay' its called atrazine and they have to wear hazmat suits to spray it, its that toxic
and its banned/illegal in other countries
there is so much other crap in the bread/wheat its crazy scary that they can call it 'food'

soft and moist
sometimes it would come out a bit uneven, or the lower stalk would be slightly tough/fibrous

>i will def have to look into that, im also on a super health kick right now and i've basically gone paleo hehe
nice, I'm glad ur looking after ur health. unfortunately organic food ect is usually way more expensive but theres a big market in the states for it so it shouldnt be hard to find. most companies producing organic products slap a huge "USDA organic certified" thing on the packages. picrel is the one on my budgie's food that comes from the states, I'm pretty sure its the same one on all USDA organic certified stuff.
