I had a seizure at work and my boss and a coworker took me to the ER.When I was there, one of the doctors insisted I take a urine test, specifically to look for the presence of proteins.I accepted, and about ten minutes later, the doctor blatantly HIPAA-violated me by going up to my boss and telling him they found drugs in my urine.Back to the office, where I'm formally fired. I'm fucking furious the doctor did that. And not to be racist, but it was a black woman doctor who shouldn't have even been there.Fast-forward to today, I get a bill in the mail, and one of the line items is "treatment for marijuana use."fuck you if you think I'm paying a cent of that.Do I have any recourse? I reported the HIPAA violations (including another that I didn't mention) already.

Does the bill simply say "treatment for marijuana use" or were there other listings related to the seizure that sent you to the ER? If the seizure wasn't marijuana induced I would try to find an ambulance chasing lawyer who might represent you for free and possibly try to think up some work related inductions of the seizure to involve your old boss even if it's just to inconvenience him.
