>>23801571that's a really cool thread. my favourite is this one>>8112309even though it was just someone posting the wrong image. I really like ruggedized tech especially the more outdated stuff.have u ever checked out lainchan? I think you'd like it, the site culture is pretty different to here though, you are expected to sage your replies unless effortposting especially if replying to multiple threads and you can't make short posts but this is good if ur looking for meaningful discussion.

Hey. What are you guys reading/watching/playing? I'm reading The Catcher in the Rye. I wanted to read books from a very easy to fairly difficult scale and this book serves well for that purpose. The prose is flows easily and is comfortable and addicting. I wasn't reflecting too much lately, but I feel like I'm encountered what is like to be reflective again. As far as I read (1/3), Holden. C. really cares about stuff, even while criticizing them after. I can see the the core part of reading this book is understanding Caulfield's feelings and its nuances, as well as the interaction between feelings and his actions. Holden is the type of person that I would like to befriends with, he is sensible and values sensibility, as well as I do. But in the end he would find me very weird, so he wouldn't like me and thus e wouldn't be friends. Well, that's why my whole form of socialization is 4chan afterall. >>23801629I like it as well. Maybe the ruggedized aspect make it look more like a machine, which is more stylish imo. It's the same with those old telephones that you had to disk the number (more mechanic and tangible feelin) vs modern smartphones (small, totally digital) or robust, older trucks vs newer trucks.
>>23801665>ive not played any of the games or watched the series ive only watched the movies, maybe I should check some other stuff in the franchise out at some point.the original manga the franchise is based off of was actually much lighter in tone, the movies are definitely more dark/dystopian in comparisonthe SAC series was only two seasons, but very good onesthe tone is much lighter than the movies, but the plots are still kinda dark at times lolthe second season was being written when 9/11 happened & they said it heavily influenced the plot, the antagonist is effectively the CIAa few great "kino" atmospheric moments, but it generally doesn't get as abstract/art-focused as some of the sequences in the 1995 moviebig varied yoko kanno soundtrack is pretty great too, of course>I hope you enjoy it :)<3

I'm going to try stay off this site for the rest of the evening so i can try get an early night. staring at text on a screen stops me getting sleepy.good night everyone and hope you have a pleasant christmas evening.night <3>>23801942yes that's what I like about such machines also :)as for what I'm watching/reading I listened to some of lovecrafts short stories on audiobook earlier then watched some slayers and now I'm watching some SG1.>>23801959sounds really good ill have to check out the manga and show>>23801966I've already told you I do not use discord. >>23802059sleep well <3merry curismasu
>>23802059>lovecrafts short storiesCool. Did you enjoy them? Were you impacted by the horror aspect? >slayers and SG1Hadn't watched Slayers yet, but SG is pretty nice. I heard people saying that the series' first half is slow or not enjoyable but I honestly liked it the same as the second half. Very fun, indeed. SciADV as a whole seems to be pretty solid.
>>23802068thanks <3 that's a funny pic xD saved.>>23802265>were you impacted by the horror aspectno not really, I listen to his stuff on audiobook to go to sleep occasionally and it almost never scares me. sometimes a particular piece of imagery will seem particularly gruesome to me and sometimes ill switch off the story for fear it will give me nightmares but its very rare that his stuff makes me feel actually scared.>I heard people say the series first half is slowmaybe that's just people who don't like the very episodic 'monster of the week' format? I personally prefer shows like that and think its stupid to make something campy like SG too serious or plot heavy. a good example of writers making a show that's supposed to be campy and silly too plot heavy and ruining it is supernatural. if they just made it totally episodic where each episode is just them going and fighting some random monster it wouldve been a far better show and all the plot heavy stuff and multipart episodes ruined the series.>sciADV as a whole seems to be pretty soliddo you mean Syfy? I've not checked out any other stuff by them ill have to look into their other series. if u meant sciADV I've only watched steins;gate I really need to check out the VNs and other stuff in the franchise.
