According to my text file I learned around 120 kanji in 6 days. But that's not counting the ones I learned before and the daily life characters I learned overnight so I'd say it's around 140.

Very good. Soon you will become a very competent gaijin.

I know I'm just a gaijin, but I'm a very respectful gaikokujin. I respect the japanese people and their culture! You can be assured, I'm always reading the 空気, and the japanese dudes are always laughing when I tell a funny joke!

What do you mean learn to decrypt moon runes?
Also I would give up trying to find a pattern, there are pattern to certain kanji and words, but they often break and you are forced to rotememorise in most cases.

Eventually the unknown combinations will end and you will be able to read fluently. Japanese grammar is a joke and you can learn it while memorizing kanji.

Yess japanese grammar is a joke. Now how much do you need to read until you no longer have to look up any words?
Let's take 付く. It has 14 different meanings.
上げる has 26 different meanings.
There are also different kanjis for the same word.
良い 善い 好い
There are also a bunch of synonyms.
ここ is same as 此処
irregular kanji readings.
you learn to read 暗い as kurai
薄暗い. so it would be usukurai here. NO its gurai. so you never know if its kurai or gurai. you never know if 人 becomes nin, jin, and for some reason in 一人 its read as ri.

I could go on and on and on. You think you can just casually chew down all of japanese within a few months. or atleast you are giving the air of that. im just going to be realistic. if your motivations are shallow and you arent willing to read and look up as many words as possible for YEARS. You will likely never get anywhere decent with this language. even the natives struggle reading this language. the natives have to look up words. the natives forget the way to read a persons name sometimes. i watched a dude play a light novel style game and 1 hour later forgot the way a characters name was read. Watched another japanese streamer play an idol game and complained about not being able to know the readings of several kanji words and asked to get the readings. complained about it.

but yeah japanese grammar is a joke so its going to be easy

I'm not saying you should rote memorise as in write in a book or use flashcards. I don't think anyone using flashcards can learn japanese. I'm just saying how it is, you are going to have to look up as many words as possible and check them every time you forgot or don't know them. There is no perfect "pattern". There is no cheese strategy. It's just years of being bogged down. And every other day there are people who learn japanese and are so confident and boast about it and they never get far with it.
So then is this language worth it for you? You could do other things that might benifit you more. Instead of deciding on sacrificing thousands of hours and part of your life on this.
I don't even understand why I would seeth if you decide to keep learning it.

So exactly like you do with English and any other language. I can't currently do 15 or more but my pacing + immersion through communication with natives actually boosts my learning process. In 6 months you could technically learn the 2k joyo kanji and then focus on reading and learning grammar.
>>
>>23801974
I mean. You gotta be shitting me. It's almost as if you didn't read anything of what I said. First of all you can't compare English and other languages to Japanese. I grew up learning English as a child because I don't need to look up the symbols for every english word. There is a direct connection.
But surely you will just flawlessly hold 2k joyo kanji in your head. As it means anything because kanji themselves are vague without the words they are used in. Memorising readings of kanji in isolation is stupid because readings are never consistent and you need to memorise them by heart. Maybe you will become comfortable speaking and communicating with natives, but it will be at a baby level since your vocabulary is capped. I mean the fact you yourself state you are focusing on reading and learning grammar after memorising 2k symbols is insane in of itself. Listening is also useless if you don't know enough words.

Shut the fuck up, these barriers exist only in your mind. And if you're a whining wuss who failed to learn Japanese it's your fault.

You are fucking deluded. I tell you how it is and your mind shuts off. You can tell me I "failed at japanese", but I read and listen in Japanese more than I do English these days and more in a day than you do a week. Tell me what those 120 kanjis are doing for you. Lately been watching 8 hours of this. Also read 75 chapters of goblin slayer. Then read 45 pages of 吾輩は猫である
>>23802010
Your english reading comprehension is shit so it would be fair to say it would be impossible to you.

Instead of seething like a little bitch you could have instead admitted that this language is fiercely difficult and said something along the lines of "yes I am aware it is difficult I choose to learn this despite that fact" then we could move on, but instead you forego that and go "uh im using all these learning methods so I should learn 2 million kanjis within 6 months also I'm gonna write a blog about how stupidly easy japanese grammar is and look according to chatgpt I already know 6 million kanji".

It’s very important to not learn kanji in isolation. As soon as you are able to read Hiragana and Katakana start assessing online contents in Japanese with a pop-up dictionary so that you can learn words in context
>>
>>23802085
I'm already texting with natives so that helps. However I need to get used to them stacking entire descriptions at the beginning and using the verb and object at the end of the sentences.

Notice how he just deliberately ignored your advice and just decided to talk about himself. Almost as if he doesn't want genuine advice almost as if he just wants to boast about learning an arbritary amount of kanji huh. That's weird, why would he do that?

Japanese is without question a language which lends itself to a great amount of flaunting of arbitrary, misguided personal achievements. If he develops a genuine interest in acquiring the language however he will save six months at minimum by forgoing learning kanji and words in isolation

I'm learning words in context by talking to natives and imitating them. It's impossible to learn 15+ words in context in a day so I'm sticking to the most important ones. Also LLMs are extremely useful because they can break the sentences into chunks, explain grammar for you and tailor sentences or make examples out of words.
>>
>>23802254
Not to mention you will use these sentences in real life later. Expressing yourself is the most important part but without the building blocks you won't be able to read at all. It's a difficult tradeoff but rather than becoming a fluent speaker immediately I'd prefer to be able to scan and read texts first since It's going to take me a few years before I'll be able to realistically move to Japan.

Ultimately the fine details of acquiring the language are decided by the learner. If you are actively exposed to words and cultural insights from natives from the outset, you have the advantage over the degenerate learner. I think it would be more productive at your level to substitute your emphasis on learning with a sheer exposure to the language from a great variety of sources, at least in the interim

Most of the verbs I find are used in real sentences by natives and I communicate by asking LLMs to make sentences for me. That way I get a double exposure and train both my reading and writing skills. Sometimes I can kind of already notice when the sentence is a bit off but my biggest hurdle is the weird sentence structure. I guess I should get used to read the verbs at the end and then the rest of the sentence.

Learning Kanji on their own doesn't make any sense since they have a gorillion different readings depending on the word
You should just learn vocabulary instead

use anki or ChatGPT to record your progress and after a while do a quick revision. Eventually they will stick in your head.
