a question for similarly mentally ill anons
i have a med appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow and am wondering if there are any government pills that will work? i have nightmares and daily impulsive thoughts of me dying or killing myself in some way, and more recently have began hearing my name in conversations in the next room despite the conversations having no relation to me whatsoever.

ive been diagnosed with major depressive disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, substance use disorders, and a previous diagnoses of disruptive mood disregulation disorder. i've tried lexapro, wellbutrin (burned through all available dosages), lamotrigine, and risperidone. am i a lost cause or is there something that may help anons?

the hallucinations sound unrelated to the disorders you mention, but some of the previous meds you took might make them worse :/
for anyone to give a proper answer they'd really have to know more details about your life/history, too many to answer probably..

seems like wellbutrin sometimes works as an antidepressant, better than SSRIs anyway, but i'd be nervous if you're experiencing hallucinations like that

if you can focus on improving your life in other ways (diet, sleep, exercise, social interaction, getting money & quality of life, etc) that might be a better approach
psychiatrists can be helpful, and sometimes meds are the best way to manage a condition, but psychiatrists sometimes fuck people as well
>>
all that being said, i've never been to a psychiatrist, so my bad
there are some anons here who probably have more firsthand experience

Say you want to try adhd meds. You are willing to do it under supervision. Simple test: if they make you calm and they help then thats it. If they don’t make you calm then its not for you

sounds like you have something else than the diagnoses mentioned. none of the meds you mentioned (apart from maybe risperidone in some cases) will help with shit like psychosis or extremely bad OCD which are the two things I would suspect based on the symptoms you describe.
you probably need some sorta typical antipsychotic.
