No, Murica doesn't like soup. Chicken noodle soup is considered medicine for cold. I read somewhere Soviets found it bizarre that Muricans never ate "the healthiest of all foods - that is, soup" and somehow had better digestive health as opposed to Russians who ate soup for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Soup was just never that big in America. Its a cheap way to feed a bunch of people if all you have is bones, trash meat, and random shit that grew in the ground. We didnt need that given we started as an agrarian society full of abundance.

Soup is hard to make. You need the veggies, yuckies, bones, chicken feet, all the nasty stuff that's ugly to look at and stinks when you're boiling it. Anything other than chicken stock fucking sucks. Beef bone stock? Tastes acidic and rotten. Fish soup? No way.
The soup stock takes an entire shelf in your fridge.
It takes a long time to heat the soup up, and it doesn't feed you at all. Even in a full house you'd end up throwing at least a quarter of the stock away because it spoils quickly especially during summer months.

cuz it's poor people food. it dropped off our menus. we eat chili all the time.

it's literally just flavored water with a few leftover bits in it. anything else and it's not soup, it's a sauce and it's called something else.

i might as well have a tiny bit of food and chug two glasses of water. same thing in my stomach.

if it tastes good, then it has too much salt to be healthy.

What's your recipe for beans?
>>
>>23969798
It's no different from stew, it just has water in it. A good soup is for example
>meat with spices
>meat broth cubes
>rutabaga, carrots, potatoes
Put cooked soup on a plate and add some sour cream, pepper, fresh onion and herbs.
It has a ton of vitamins. I don't eat it every day but like twice a month and it really does boost your vitamin levels. You will feel far less tired.
You will not have the same with the American cuisine, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza.
If you feel hungry after two hours it's because your body is craving more of those vitamins. Once you have it in your regular diet, you no longer feel the need to eat it every two hours.

Soup is objectively a food for peasants. It needs to be made with care and culinary arts in mind in order for soup to be elevated to something that you actually straight up just eat and enjoy rather than something that just fills the belly.
And you're not exactly going to be eating high quality soup on a regular basis, that would just be a lot of prep and expense. The most I eat is egg drop and chicken noodles when I get the sniffles.

This one is for all you fags talking about "soup is like eating water." This lentil soup is thick and hearty. You can sub any meat or none at all.

>1lg onion diced
>1 bunch celery diced
>2-4tblsp good fat (bacon fat, tallow, olive oil)
>1tsp salt
>cook until onions begin to go translucent
>add 2lbs 80/20 ground beef
>1tsp salt
>cook until browned breaking up clumps
>28oz diced tomatoes+juice
>6cups of liquid(beef stock, water etc)
>2 bay leaves
>2cups sorted and rinsed lentils
>1cup-ish of frozen peas and carrots
>2tsp salt
>any other seasonings you want to add(I use a custom blend based off the nashville hot chicken seasoning)
>bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 35-40mins
>get bay leaves out
>run 2 cups of the soup through a blender or use an immersion blender and put back in pot to thicken soup
>serve with a fat scoop of pico de gallo and maybe some crimbled queso fresco
>>
>>23969774
That's bs, I don't believe they don't eat ramen at least.

No, it',s because soup is mostly water, with water logged ingredients, you're hungry again in 3o minutes(especially if you're doing any sort of intensive activity/labour) because you're eating water and coping about it.

In the same time you could prep a soup you could prep a stew instead, or pasta, or another proper meal that will actually leave you full.

if you make white meat in a soup it won't be dry + youll have the broth as flavor
just boil the meat with carrot, onion, celery, green pepper, coriander, dill, bay leaf, couple black peppercorns (optional: parsley root, celeriac) for 3-4 hours. did your mom not teach you?

It's because the beef industry kikes propagandized them so hard that they don't even consider soups to be viable food options anymore. Only fastfood slop and BBQ is real food to them.
Also, they eat a bunch of stuff that's technically a soup (like gumbo), but they plate it with a side dish and treat it as if it was just a slightly runnier stew. The word soup kind of lost its meaning to them.
>>

>>
>>23969822
The fresh ingredients are the entire point of a soup. Buying a can full of mostly preservatives is pointless. Just hoard tuna cans at that point, if you're buying can for doomsday prepping. I'm assuming that that's the only reason anybody would ever buy one of those.
>>
>>23969876
it costs less money to keep a fridge/freezer full than mostly empty

when you open the fridge door the cold air escapes and it needs to cool it all down again
if its full of food, the food stays cold and there is less air to escape

making a large portion of food so that you dont have to cook daily saves time

you buy a few 1L tupperware containers and put several portions into the freezer so you have multiple single serve containers to warm up

take one out of the fridge to heat up, take one out of the freezer and put in fridge to defrost for tomorrow

saves time and money

You can doubt all you want but the soup I make described in my previous post has proper meat, rutabaga, carrots and potatoes in it. It's no different from stew, just has the broth added to it. I don't eat it every day, it's just a regular part of my diet. I don't get hungry soon after, but the first time I made it I did. The only explanation is that it has vitamins that my body was craving.
Meat, rutabaga, carrots, potatoes and sour cream are rich in all kinds of vitamins. It's also very cheap to make. Anything but meat is less than 5, and the meat (1kg) is about 10. I only use half of the meat and freeze the other half for the next batch. It doesn't take more than 2 hours to make. You will get meals for at least 3 days. If you add another dish, full grain or rye bread with cheese, that's food for a week with 30 bucks. I spend only 150 on groceries a month and I eat healthy.

A vegetable beef soup with stew beef is better than fast food slop.

>25 ounces can of beef chunks
>3 cups tomato juice
>1 onion, chopped small
>2 medium carrots, sliced thin
>1 beef bullion cube
>1 teaspoon onion salt
>1/2 teaspoon chili powder
>1 large potato, cut into bite-size pieces
>1 cup frozen corn
>1/4 cup pearl barley

Can leave out the potato and corn if you want low carb and add in celery, kidney beans, mushrooms. Zoomers don't know how a file system works, they don't drive, and most of them are minorities or were ruined by spending too much time around minorities. It's a sad situation that needs to be rectified with removing non-whites.

You know what I mean. BBQ and grilling culture's consequence is that people don't like cheap "peasant" food anymore. Peasant food is good enough and its production is locally sustainable, that's the entire point of it. If you eat nothing but steaks then your entire diet depends on the current economy and supply chain being alive. It wouldn't work in the post-apocalypse world. Meanwhile you can drop a bunch of peasants literally anywhere without electricity and they'll produce their peasant food for themselves locally just fine.

I haven't had miso soup in a decade or so but I remember it not tasting overwhelmingly salty, but maybe they just hid the sodium content. Most sweets are... Too sweet. If they were half or a quarter as sweet I wouldn't mind them but then again I'm the kind of person that used to double the water in my frozen juice concentrates and my family hated it and I liked it that way.

I was taught by parents and grandparents that if you dont eat soup, your intestines get tangled and you die.
Or your shit turns to stone and you die trying to shit it out.
I dont know if the health benefits are true according to them, but i feel like eating soup is obligatory somehow, for health, like other food i dont like but eat anyway, as if we arent supposed to be picky and eat only what we like.
I dont know nor do i know of any research made on the matter
It made me highly dislike people who are picky about food, or waste food or talk shit about food

When I was growing up in the 90s, soup was known as the "poor people's dinner". There were times where that's all we had. Soup is part of Europe's cuisine because of war. Soup was easy to make in huge quantities with less ingredients. Some of the best soup I have ever eaten was in Eastern Europe.

They also have onions, carrots, celery, salt, pepper, bay leaf, chicken stock, and Italian seasoning and your choice of dry pasta (adult) or dry pasta (for children) that will put you 5 minutes of work and two hours of simmering from a big ass pot of the best chicken noodle soup you’ll ever have. Swap the chicken for beef tips, the stock for beef stock and the pasta for barley and add a couple of tablespoons of tomato paste and it’s more the best beef barley soup you’ll ever have

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's because home cooking has substantially decreased in America. I can see it in the generations in my family. My grandma cooked so damn good, my mom cooks pretty okay, and my sister can barely cook. You can't really get soup from fast food except from certain places.

Also stews and soups are the most efficient way to eat food, it's obvious that we are meant to be weaker
>>
>>23969800
I sometimes forget how retarded people are here.

Soup is LITERALLY the most efficient way to eat food because wow you're getting your water and your nutrient intake in one go and the soup base traps all the nutrients and flavors from everything you add to the broth. Why do you think cowboys made stews and soups instead of steaks or whatever.

Like some other dude said that I skimmed, soup is considered a poor food or sick food, mainly in parts of the US that were urbanized. My family still regularly eats soup (granted I'm not white but also not poor)
>>
>>23969774
A proper dinner have always been a soup AND a "main course". The main course for energy and proteins, the soup for vitamins, minerals and longevity. This is what the "aristocracy" (which used to live till their nineties when the plebs was dying at 50) have been eating.
The overlords DO NOT want you to live long (and bankrupt their ponzi-scheme pension systems kek) so they promote just calories and proteins to keep you "productive" while you're at your prime.
