I read it could take years and I'd need a lawyer and need to reapply multiple times. Turns out my mom was super autistic about all my medical stuff since birth and had records and contact info for the various specialists I've been seeing since I was born. The SSDI folks called me and did a phone interview and I provided them with everything and then like a month later I got an approval letter and started getting direct deposit. Been living that way for a number of years. It helped I already had a house and mortgage and already refinanced once so my mortgage is pretty cheap comparitively. Been NEETing for 8 years now. Can't imagine going back.
