>>24064171No, that's stupid
you only live once, as they say
Become a Mormon. Based religion.
>>24064186Yes, but I want to hear why you think so
>>24064218While you have to have a lot of faith to believe everything the Latter Day Saints teach, they are an international organisation and religion that is well organised and Christian with Jesus Christ being the role model for both men and women. If you do decide to look into becoming Mormon, don't get hung up on if what they are teaching is true or not but read the richness of the stories in the book of Mormon and rely on your faith in God to answer questions you might have about the religion.Mormons have temples where religion and reality start to come together (temples are places where you come closer to God after all). If you are into illuminati style worship without all the evil stuff, what happens in the temple are both sacred acts as well as fun to participate in.I currently do not go to church and have minimal participation with the church but I'm not getting constant emails or visits from members unless I initiate contact first and show interest in becoming more active in the church. Again, unlike scientology, they aren't going to use your own words against you and will try and see you thrive both religiously and spiritually. You can fly around the world and still have a church or temple to visit and instantly have a community that is welcoming and has similar Christian ideals as yourself even if you don't believe everything that is being taught (at the end of the day, we can't go back and witness events in history yet so making the most out of the evidence we have is exactly what Mormons do). These are just a few reasons to convert to the Latter Day Saints.
>>24064255if you have any questions I can answer more but again it's better to talk with Missionaries if you are interested in joining, they are much more knowledgeable about everything than I am and can teach you in whatever language is your strongest.
>>24064304Brother I already have joinedI just wanted to make sure you weren't about to say some absolute bullshit that only someone who is happy to not understand could believe
>>24064315Brilliant, if you ever want to vent about anything Mormon or talk about any of the scripture just make a post and I'll try to look out for it. Again I have to stress a lot will rely on your own personal faith and whether you feel comfortable joining even if you have your doubts about some of the doctrine.Missionaries aim is to get you baptised because they only have 2ish years on a mission and getting the most baptisms in that time is their goals but don't be rushed into anything you are unsure about, take your time and make sure all your questions are answered sufficiently before you "take the plunge" (so to speak :D).Mormons are incredibly friendly but there are some bitchy Mormons so be aware that not everyone is out to help you. Something the bitchy Mormons like to do is teach you the wrong thing about scripture so that if you repeat it to another friendly Mormon they'll be flustered or they'll make sly comments referencing a particularly well know part of scripture that you haven't learned yet to put you down but it's all high school level drama bullshit that you can see a mile off. I recommend talking to as many people as possible and finding the friendly Mormons quickly as they'll really help you in your conversion and talk frankly about different religious topics above and beyond what a missionary will tell you.Good luck anon!
hop scotch boogie to it my man!
>>24064315>>24064329Man this really sucks i also got recommended to join latter day saints Church... since its easier with a community like that around to make and raise kids and they seem like a pretty solid community that holds together Unfortunately the book of mormon is kinda bullshit and they aren't allowed to drink alcohol or coffee Its truly such a shame
>>24064338I haven't been going to church for some years now, smoke vape, drink alcohol and coffee, occasionally masturbate and just generally am a very bad Mormon. I aim to be more spiritually minded and adhere to the commandments at some point but I've got a lot of repenting to do.Just remember that each Mormon is their own person so even if you don't adhere to everything that is taught or occasionally have that cheeky coffee you're not going to be majorly ostracised and can always repent! If you reach out to the church they'll put you in contact with the right department or people to help with your issue (could even be financial issues etc.).I have to say though, repenting is between you and God. Lots of people say they have repented and want everyone to know how good they now are but true repentance is between you and God. If you've done something particularly bad you can always seek guidance from your wards bishop who is usually very knowledgeable and has heard it all. Don't ever think you are alone if you've slipped like I have.
>>24064350 I don't have that big of a problem with them not allowing coffeeMy main problem with mormons are they're scriptures, I just don't think uhh... that everything is canon and true to the original bible and word of God Mind you I 100% agree with you on the repent part. I have a hard time because I haven't found a church I can go to yet... most of the ones I had in mind I don't even understand the language, so the latter day saints seemed inviting in comparison :/
>>24064350I should also point out it's hard for converts and most normal Mormons will know you're making big changes that don't come naturally. Just think, you're the first step in your family line becoming Mormon so obviously there are going to be challenges. God loves you and knows it's difficult to change habits and routines: don't judge yourself on someone who has been in the church their whole life and has a whole family network that practices to support them, you're a convert and that in itself is a massive step for your bloodline in a path that leads to God. Don't beat yourself up too badly and do things as best you can for the situation you are in.
>>24064354Read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and then pray about it, with genuine desire to know and willingness to accept whatever answer God gives you
>>24064354Honestly Mormon churches are based. Even if you think the book of Mormon is bullshit, the stories and general ideas brought up in the stories teach good narratives (even if it can get a little waffly or hard to understand).Obtaining the keys to priesthood, receiving and blessing anointing oil and having the authority to bless people are all important parts of being a Mormon.I've had some interesting conversations with Mormons who also have some questions about the book of Mormon and are open minded about discussion of the book of Mormon (did they really land in America or was it somewhere in south east Asia etc.). Once you are baptised and "initiated" it's about finding "your" people and enjoying yourself in a community of Christians. Also Doctrine isn't fixed and is constantly evolving. Having a living Prophet means that at some point, new revelations can come about and that changes how the whole religion operates (though again, like all religions, change is slow but Latter Day Saints are probably the fastest changing religion out there).
>>24064368This.

>>24064436That's theistic. I am one myself but it makes me feel free
