I started smoking weed and I'm in my 40s. I did it occasionally cos I couldn't cope with the misery and pain I felt about life.

For me it was revolutionary. Anxiety massively reduced, sleep became fantastic, actually felt relaxed and chill and figured things out. However it wasn't enough and I didn't want to get stoned every night to cope so I went to the doc and got SSRIs.

Since then I haven't had any interest in weed or alcohol. The meds make the best difference.

I need to quit
But my life a shit

I think I can do it but then it’s hard.
And then at some point I remember I was in a mental hospital at my absolute lowest and I was fully sober then.

So I don’t know what to do.
I want to tell myself that I’ll eventually make myself feel better if I try to reduce to once a week. But then I keep wondering if being sober is the actual hole to make me feel even worse and suicidal again.

I don’t know what to do.
I want to leave the flower but it hurts so much.
