Buttercream frosting, prepared with eggs from chickens I personally know and butter. Very important to be able to trust that your eggs came from a reasonably clean environment(for something that comes out of a cloaca) as to hopefully not get salmonella, as the recipe doesn’t call for cooking them(you can also irradiate the exposed egg material with UV, which I happen to have a powerful UV-based adhesive curing system, multiple output, very handy for disinfecting).

A cherry pie prepared from the same cookbook. Crust is just flour, lard, water, and a dash of vinegar for flakiness. Dotted with butter of course to seal the edges. Filling is cherries + simple syrup(sugar, hot water), stewed and reduced, as the canned cherries in syrup nowadays are made with HFCS.

>chickens I personally know and butter
why are you buttering your chickens?
>eggs came from a reasonably clean environment(for something that comes out of a cloaca) as to hopefully not get salmonella
salmonella is code for shit on the egg shell, just like e coli is code for oops we got shit all over the carcass. commercial eggs are washed in an industrial washer with bleach.
some ai opinion
>Commercial eggs in the United States are washed and sanitized with a dilute chlorine-based solution, typically containing 100 to 200 parts per million (ppm) of chlorine, which is roughly comparable to concentrations used in municipal drinking water. This process is a federal food safety requirement designed to remove surface contaminants like Salmonella and strip the egg's natural protective coating (the bloom), rather than to bleach the shell white, which is determined by the hen's breed.

>While the sanitizing solution does not chemically bleach the shell to change its color, the removal of the bloom forces eggs to be refrigerated continuously to prevent bacterial penetration through the exposed shell pores. The washing process is effective, reducing surface bacterial counts by approximately 99.999%, but it necessitates a strict cold chain from processing plants to consumer kitchens, unlike in many European countries where eggs are not washed and can be stored at room temperature
you are more likely to get salmonella from home raised eggs. just remember to wipe off the poo poo.

a nice quick cheese cake can be made real quick like this:
crush some digestive biscuits up
gentle heat some butter and mix the crushed biscuits in so everything is coated.
press the still warm mix into whatever tray or form you want your cake in.
put it in the fridge
mix cream cheese with some sugar and whatever flavor you want. coffee works well.
that goes on top of the coooled and hardened base.
maybe decorate with some melted chocolate pictures etc.

its great.

I wash the eggs well. I always assumed it was internal to the shell, given that commercial eggs are pasteurized/irradiated and washed. I figured it was due to poor quality control, skipping of steps.
And lmao, ya’ll wouldn’t understand the quality difference in eggs that come from buttered cloaca’s, it’s important to use unsalted though. Of course I meant that it’s just whipped eggs+butter(ofc you know this and it doesn’t need to be said). Ty for your information anon.

>>24191927
it looks pretty cool
you might like to try a piping bag, you can do a lot with those. you can get one at a dollar store
fyi pastry chef is a whole separate trade from cook. if you are one of those, you can actually make money and have creative control as well. there are all kinds of tools of the trade as well which make the individual tasks much easier, like special offset spatulas etc.
>>24191930
my mom raised chickens and the quality was vastly different from store bought. i've never tried it myself, but apparently duck eggs are the best ones for baking.
and they don't do that egg washing in most other countries. i used to live in a tourist town, and i would always get people from europe wondering why eggs were in the cooler in the supermarket and the fridge at home. they also had no idea why there were screens on the windows, at least until summer when the mosquitos block out the sun and the wondering stops.

I’ve had similar variations of this, and while they are quite enjoyable(and admittedly 90% as good, providing far more value for the time and effort), I was commending anon’s mom for appearing to have taken the more difficult(and proper) route by making New York style cheesecake, which is baked of course. Some shortcuts can be taken that route as well, a proper cheesecake takes like 5-6hrs to prepare, so I only make them once a year, more like every 2yrs.
>>24191927
Ok now bear with me here, this is chocolate mousse, before being prepared in to servings via piping bag. The base recipe is 8oz Marscapone cheese, 8oz of Nutella(or a plain chocolate spread would be preferred, now that they are available in the States) mixed together, then fold in 8oz of well whipped heavy whipping cream+dash of sugar. Let sit overnight in refrigerator, it can be put into an uncut piping bag for storage. Pipe into small glasses, pipe freshly prepared whipped cream on top, garnish with shaved baking chocolate and chocolate powder or hazelnut if desired. A 3-star establishment taught me this recipe and swore me to secrecy.

Thanks anon, I hadn’t bought a proper piping bag set at that time, which has since been corrected. It’s just a fun hobby of mine, something I can do to make something for somebody, give them something more personal/thoughtful than a hastily made purchase while en route, or gift card. I first began baking and cooking at age 11, wanting to learn how to be self-sufficient so that I could depend on myself and not need to marry the first person who came along who could cook. I also learned sewing, as I’ve always been the kind to need buttons sewn back on, no matter how careful I am, or whose jeans need to be hemmed due to odd measurements (is 32x30 really that odd?).

Here’s an abomination I did not make, I don’t have that many pictures of my plated creations as I don’t usually think to take a picture of things I’ve made.

Nothing like making a home cooked multi course meal for an evening date(follow up with homemade waffles in the morning, not premix crap either), you can really impress with minimal effort, as it is leagues more than most guys do. Tortellini and vodka sauce, a light salad, a little something for dessert. Just make sure you only use a dash of garlic, or make something that avoids it altogether. And be warned that if you make food that is too good, your date may well stuff herself to the point of being unable to comfortably perform that evening, which isn’t so bad if you have a relationship that allows for her to stay overnight for bonding in the morning.

>The claim that meat universally prevents Alzheimer’s disease is not supported by evidence; instead, research indicates that processed red meat increases dementia risk, while unprocessed meat may reduce risk only in individuals carrying the APOE ε4 gene variant.

>A 2024 study of over 130,000 participants found that eating at least ¼ serving of processed red meat daily was associated with a 14% higher dementia risk compared to those consuming less than 1/10 serving per day.
>Conversely, a 2026 Swedish study published in JAMA Network Open reported that older adults with APOE ε3/4 or ε4/4 genotypes who consumed high amounts of unprocessed meat had slower cognitive decline and lower dementia risk, but this benefit was not observed in non-carriers.
>Replacing processed meat with nuts, legumes, fish, or poultry was linked to a 20% lower dementia risk, highlighting that dietary quality and substitution matter more than meat consumption alone
