I was socially inept as fuck when I was a teenager and in my early twenties. During my twenties, my asberger's seemed to gradually lessen and now in my thirties, I can finally have a normal conversation with neurotypicals. Now I can pick up on social cues, body language and other subtleties that I probably wouldn't have ten years ago; and definitely not fifteen or more years ago.Maybe it's just practice. Either way, I don't think it's impossible for an autist to ever be able to play "social power games".In fact, once they finally catch up with their social intelligence, an autist might have an inherent advantage over neurotypicals, due to possibly possessing above average intellectual capabilities. They might be able to conceive of ways to patiently fuck over their neurotypical co-worker over an extended period of time, in a cold and calculated manner; whereas a neurotypical person might be more inclined to go with something that bears more immediate, but lesser results.
