It appears to me, so far, that the footwear the men of a region/race wear, is a sign of their class status.It is apparent that areas with most men wearing sandals and long pants will be a 3rd world region, or that the man has come from that culture. See india and arab/african countries, along with parts of rural china, as well as hippies.It is less egregious when they are worn with shorts, yet if that is still the norm, the country may be considered 2nd world such as Brazil and Mexico.I would ammend that in the cases of leisure, such as boating, or lounging at the beach, this is acceptable footwear, and would not indicate a low class person or area.I also believe that this metric does not apply to women, or at least much less so.What should we call this metric?
