>>24448534People can stand straight in quicksand, and the mud can be around a foot deep but the mud doesn't add to the depth, if anything the mud makes canals slightly shallower, which is why they need to be dredged every few decades. The underlying structure only allows for a depth of 3-4 feet, including the mud.
