Today for my breakfast lunch dinner meal I made these garlic scapes, it was my first time trying them after wanting to for a long while. I sautéed them in a pan with a bit of oil and some salt until they browned/blackened a bit. Very yummy, asparagus is one of my favorite veggies and I'd liken these to them, the flavor is a mild garlic/green onion but very similar to asparagus. I cut about an inch off the bottom of the shoots since I found that they are also woody and tough like asparagus. Overall 10/10 vegetable. I think I will just eat this in place of asparagus. They retain a nice firm bite and crunch after being cooked as compared to asparagus which can become a bit soggy after cooking.
