He's a training captain, so the top of the career ladder, more or less. He managed to keep his job during covid, his take was that it was important to be have plenty of experience on newer aircraft if you want to survive downturns as airlines will take them as an opportunity to scrap both older aircraft and the pilots who fly them. He also fucked something like 50 stewardesses over the course of a few years, so there's that as well.

>>60876314sounds like a bad idea desu. i briefly looked into becoming a pilot. the training and qualifications are like $100k and the pilot job market can turn in an instant. 10-15 years ago pilots were in dire straits and pay was in the absolute toilet until you got into a major airline. now things are better but they could easily create an oversupply of pilots and it's back to toilet wages.
